dreams of Gaia tarot-XIV king of earth

The Dreams of Gaia-King of Earth, depicts the Green Man of Celtic legend. He represents a personality whose character traits are virile, successful in his endeavors, industrious, devoted to family and friends, steadfast, authoritative and reliable. In other words a very satisfied person as everything this one touches turns to gold. This one's life is secure and wealthy, with happy family and friends who are glad to know him. This one is proud of their accomplishments, and is not afraid to acknowledge them and enjoy them. Therefore, this one may seem boastful, but in reality, is very grounded and realistic personality and enjoys abundance because they are wise and careful.

When one is a person such as the King of Earth, they are open and candid as they have no emotional baggage to feed doubts and fears. They are willing to share their success, and gives advice and guidance, but only when asked. After all, this one believes everyone is entitled to the same opportunities. Because of this ones clarity of mind, and reliability, they are someone you can trust and rely on. Therefore, "if it ain't broke" this one won't meddle with what works. Only when a method fails, will this one obligingly change methods. After all, this one believes that changing things unnecessarily, is just a waster of time and effort. Steady and steadfast are the ways of Earth.

The Green Man image on the Dreams of Gaia Card, is full of Earthly fruitfulness symbols. Covered in the fertile green plant life, horned and antlered, both representing the fecund power of Earth. The Ruby in the "third eye" chakra represents, fiery passion. In India, the dark rubies were classified as male and the lighter rubies were classified as female. The Stag is a Celtic symbol of fecundness, strength and power.

When the King of Earth Card is thrown in a divination, it implies:

  • Take pride in accomplishments.
  • Pay it forward.
  • Honor your process.
  • Now is not the time to make changes.
  • Life is meant to be enjoyed.
  • Free yourself from control.
  • Don't be lazy.
  • Abuse or misuse of power.

The Knights of Thoth Tarot, are the Kings of Traditional decks and are ruled by the 2nd Sephiroth-Chokmah, who is both Wisdom and the Will to Force. He is the idea of male polarity.

Now there are those who believe that Male came first, or that Female came first; well let’s just say that they think only in linear time aided by our short-sighted physical-cultural perspective on sexuality. The startling fact to some, is that if you come up with the idea of Male, then you come up with the idea of female at the same moment. There is no male concept without the concept of female and vise verse. So the argument of whom came first, is null and void when intellectually talking about the Supernal Triangle.

The Will to Force (Chokmah) and the Will to Form (Binah) united produce the Will - To – Be; which is the way of saying the mating of I and Am produces the idea of Being and that being is a - Me. Our concept of sexuality is in need of adjustment before we can understand the One Energy that made itself two so it could be many.

Chokmah is the second Sephira and thus is also the force behind the four Deuces. The Personification of that force is represented in the four Knights/Kings. In other words, Chokmah's will to force, is at its most concentrated and dense elemental form on Earth.

The Knight of Disks represents the Lord of the wild and fertile land and as such is the King of the elemental spirits of earth; for instance, the Gnomes. The zodiacal attributes to this card are the last Decan of Leo and the first two Decans of Virgo.

Being that the Knight of Disks is the densest manifestation of the Elemental Yod force, he is the force behind fruition, and growth but tends to be slow and methodical. The powerful fertility of this Knight is represented in this card by the use of the Stag antlers on the Helm of the Knight. The understanding of the mythical animal images of the middle ages, comes in handy here, as the Stag is the beast that ate the serpent (received wisdom) and in so doing sheds its skin, any illness and old age, just as a serpent does. So to make a long and wonderful story short, the Stag represents the Knight's power to regenerate as does the organic matter it is a symbol of. Therefore, this one doesn't carry emotional baggage, that is, unsolved emotional problems, but rather, solves the problem when confronted and moves forward. This one believes that what is done is done, and what isn't done will be done.

Many of us have seen the Fire of Earth, in its volcanic upheavals; However, how often do we realized that Volcanic Earth is regenerating itself? Therefore, the Fire of Earth that is the Knight maybe fleeting ; yet he is also the cycle of rebirth. The same fruition is implied by the corn or fruitful plane that his horse is grazing on. Hence, he carries a flail, used in grain harvest and his disk/shield is that of solid nutrition.

The Knight of Disks (King of Pentacles), is the card of a "just harvest", where one who sows well, harvests well. A personality of a just and reliable person who is diligent and hard working. This one's competence comes from the knowledge that practice makes perfect, and is constantly paying attention to the ideas that grow into success. Here is a personality that is born between August 11th and September 11th. Those who have experience in Tarot, know that we all, at one time or another, have all expressed characteristics of all 16 court cards/types of personalities. However, those born between August 11th and September 11th, tend to show most of the characteristics of the Knight of Disks. Souls/Psyches are all copies of the Universal Collective Unconsciousness, therefore, we all have access to all the personality types from which to create a persona. What all Qabalists are seeking to create, is the personality that is a Mercury-Magus, a messenger of the Sephiroth, who is grounded but also able to go inward and therefore, "upward" the Tree of Life, to gain the Wisdom of the "gods" and bring it back to the body-persona. Personalities, can be changed at anytime and any moment, for they are the "Me" that is willfully created to operate the body in the name of the Soul; I AM. The Personality that is of the Greater Self, is called the "philosopher" and the body becomes the "Stone" (throne) of that Great Philosopher.

Such a personality often chooses a career as a healer, counselor, and/or a teacher. Many medical doctor's are of this type of personality.

It implies:

  • A concern for the body and good health.
  • A doctor or herbalist concerned with health.
  • The querent is showing the spirit of fertilization, as joyous practicality, steadfastness, reliability and is an epitome of material success.
  • Generous, courageous but is not prone to seeking adventure.
  • Ordinary activity, in social position, accomplishments, experiencing a success that is relaxed and enjoyed.
  • A mature reliable, dependable, and wise male upon whom others may depend on and with whom they lay their burdens.
  • A dark male, who is both courageous and lethargic in tendencies. However driven in matters of material success.
  • A good financial provider who understands and likes work knowing it leads to financial security.
  • The querent may be such a person or involved with such a person in their life. The surrounding cards or position in the reading would support this understanding.

If ill defined by the surrounding cards, the Knight of Disks implies:

  • Conservative.
  • Materialistic.
  • Dogmatic.
  • Jealous of what they realize is a superior state of others.
