Thoth- 8 of Swords-Interference

Lord of shortened force.

The Thoth 8 of Swords-Interference, is in the 8th Sephiroth -Hod on the Qabalistic Tree of Life, which is called Splendor. Splendor signifies lack of persistence in intellectual and matters of contest. Splendor, is cosmetic and has little depth of character. However, ruling this astrological Decan, is Jupiter in Gemini, thus good fortune may have attended even weakened efforts. However, Gemini has its own contest, which is constantly interfering with the Will.

This constant distraction of the intellect is shown by the 6 Crossing Swords between two major Swords signifying too many different thoughts to consider at the same moment from 2 aspects of consciousness; waking conscious and subconscious. As Crowley states, " the will is constantly thwarted by accidental interference".[Book of Thoth, Pg. 207] .

Again, THE 8 OF SWORDS- Interference, is also called The Lord of Shortened Force. This card is attributed to Jupiter in Gemini, and Jupiter's natural expansiveness is in determent in Gemini, as the duality of Gemini affects Jupiter's positive energy scattering half one way and half the other.

Here, Hod is in Yetzirah, the Astral/Formative World.

The angels of the Decan are, Vemibael and Yehohel.

Because of the desire to go one way than the other, the shortened forces of Jupiter are scattered, erratic and unstable. This is indeed an interference when trying to focus one's consciousness on a goal. Yes, it can be an intense and positive beginning, but it soon loses momentum in misdirection.

Crowley illustrates this in his 8 of Swords, as two strong and long main swords, being crossed (as in Crossed-up) by six short swords of different designs (scattered thoughts). The shorter swords also imply, shortened force, narrowness and restriction. There is a definite lack of persistence in intellectual matters and of contest. Jupiter's natural good fortune still attends even the weakest of efforts, yet the will is constantly thwarted by accidental interference.

The Thoth Deck 8 of Swords, is also in the Suit of Air, which blows wherever it may. All of this contradiction well displays the mental conflict that comes from splendorous displays of intellectual thought. In such a shallow display, the faux intellectual must constantly babble on with gaudy words and hollow concepts that have very little mental "nutrition". This is a common disease of the human brain that prods our personalities on with a shot gun blast of thoughts, scattering our intellectual strength so that our thought is too weak to go the distance. This dysfunction serves the “slave masters” that have indoctrinated our minds. Many of us are taught, that to be ignorant or incorrect, is bad, or the act of the stupid and mentally dysfunctional; Therefore, the brain wishes to be good and well liked, so it does everything it can to impress other brains with a cacophony of interfering thoughts; hoping for a "pat on the back". This tends to "narrow and restrict" the ego- mind, so that all we hear are the echoes of many thoughts rattling around in our tinny head, much like traffic noise in a tunnel. It is not that such a person is "closed minded" it's just that there is such a cacophony of rapid fire thoughts that the person's brain is closeted in mental noise. Such mental interference often assaults the individual's moments of mental repose; sleeping and meditation becomes a contest between will and brain making both sleep and meditation weak attempts.

To control this lack of focus, requires us to add correctional software to our brain's programing and/or own our ego and not be owned by it. One such correctional software package, is the study of the Gnostic Qabalah's philosophy where "above all things, know thyself" is the foundational focus of I AM. Rather than, "thyself is made by the acquiring of more things, reading more books or attending more universities" which only produces impoverished thoughts based on " I don't have so I must seek...”. (In the study of Yoga, the Sanskrit word for this impoverished thinking is Neti-neti, which means “not this-not that”.) The solution to mental fuzz, is focusing on one thing at a time and to stop seeking happiness in the outside world, as if the accumulation of things will cure this dysfunction. This may sound easy, but requires intense sensual intimacy with love of being and in love of what you are doing. For Happiness, is not a gathering of "stuff", but rather, a sense of Self-Beauty. Knowing and feeling the individual Melody that the harmony of Spirit-Mind-Body produce as a *ménage à trois (a household of 3) inside the body-self.

*Ménage à trois - Wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ménage_à_trois

A ménage à trois (French: [menaʒ a tʁwa]) is a domestic arrangement with three people sharing romantic or sexual relations with one another, and typically dwelling together. The phrase is a loan from French meaning "household of three". A form of polyamory, contemporary arrangements are sometimes identified as a throuple, thruple, or triad.

Tarot Illuminati- 8 of Swords

The prison of the mind.

The Tarot Illuminati-8 of Swords is sticking to the traditional tarot illustration of this Tarot Card. However, it is far more exquisite in it's artistic expression. The lady in white is showing obvious feelings of being trapped as she is both blinded and being held back by a mental noise (the 8 swords forming a fence) and unable to see a way out. She is obviously in need of rescue.

She is bound by tradition and/or indoctrination and therefore kept from the necessary mental freedom to set herself free from the restricted "logic" created by words. She must break open her mental prison of self-identity, releasing all that is within and freeing the I AM , from the oppressions of a manmade ego., that is a faux self created by dogma, words, indoctrination and fear of rejection. We are unrestricted Solar Minds, high above the fears of animal worlds. We are "Suns of the Divine Creative". Our inner-self, is the bright, glowing, brilliant psyche (Soul) that mustn't be caged by a closed sense of Self. I AM... is the creator of "Me". That "Me" can't preform if it is held in the profaned mental awareness and becomes a scared and frightened animal, who can't act, but just stares at the headlights of the oncoming traffic.

I AM Divine Will made Manifest, is an understanding that frees us from the "chains of Caesar". For the I AM created "Me" so it could become intimate with Self-Information and/or Sensually Self-Aware. I AM Spirit, the original identity and I have obviously completed my Will to Be! For it is the barking insanity of a dog's fear of the Moon, to believe that Spirit, who is both omniscient, and omnipresent , would create something it doesn't want to be. It is good to be "Me". I would take the Divine Creative's name in vain to reject the "Me", that I AM.
