The Tarot of Eli-Major Arcana: Dreams of Gaia Tarot-Key 20-Desire & The Thoth Tarot-ATU 11-Lust.

Western Qabalistic Tarot Card Comparisons.

The Dreams of Gaia Tarot- key 20-Desire, comes closest to the Thoth Lust Card. It more powerful than many know, for to desire, is more than a mundane want. It is a great roaring, of "I will it so I shall have it"! It is from the guts, and not some lazy thought wandering around the brain. It is a dragon within. For Desire began this Universe, the Logos, or Shout of "The Word" that many theologies say began the Universe, is called "Eheieh" in Hebrew, and means "I Will Be!" Hence, a "Big Bang/Shout" of Longing started this Universe. Lust and/or Desire built us all as itself!

Many religions of the Patriarchy, state that desire corrupts mankind; it is the root of all suffering. That is like saying creation is the root of all misery. Without the desires, no one would be motivated to create, to act, or do whatever is necessary to fulfill that desire. I thank the Divine Creative for its desire to be Me! Self- is what I AM and everything I see, is another way to be me, for I am the fulfillment of the Eheieh, for I am being and because I exist, I Am good enough for the I AM that began it All. Hence, it is okay to desire, but be sure you have control of this dragonish lion, and not let it control you, for it is a "big bang" that can destroy as well as create. Many desires have propelled some to greatness, as well as, propelled others to destruction.

To put desire into action requires that one believes that a particular outcome is good. It often means that we must concern ourselves, with finishing a certain task before we go after our desire, or should we drop everything and pursue it with all our strength? Is it destructive to you, or someone else? Because of the desire to own land, and be at liberty to design ones own life, caused many Europeans of the 17th Century to venture out and face the unknown dangers of an mighty Ocean, on small wooden ships, and find land that they could claim as their own. They were not stopped by finding it already occupied by Native peoples, "After all there is enough for everybody"....! Then the desires to own land and "be free", overcame any consideration of "others" and the idea of Eminent Domain became the excuse for genocidal practices of war against those whose land they were stealing. Hence, desire owned them, they didn't own their dragonish-lion. It became a chimera that ate their hearts and poisoned their minds. So desires must be watched closely. Take a good long look, at desire. It is power, and will launch powerful energy-in-motion, (emotion) and like all power, it can be misused. It will get you what you want, and it is not good or bad but just acting out its nature of conquest; "I Will Have" Yells desire! So be sure to domesticate it, so that it will not destroy others and thereby, destroy you.

It is desire that drives us to set and achieve goals. It is desire that motivate one to keep going, when all looks bleak. Desire compels you to keep going, driving you onward through the "driving rain" and the deep mud of exhaustion. Desire ensures that you will take risks, and will make sacrifices with a heated heart and a smile on your face. It is a lust to be more than you are now being. The lust to live more life than you are living. Desire is also a product of DNA, for it wants to propagate and many teenager's, who have good minds and hearts, find themselves locked into a pregnancy, because of desire's siren call. So don't be afraid to show them the proper way to "have sex" without making babies. They will try it, for they are compelled by a 3.6 billion year old desire of "I Will Be", that is the DNA of earth, which in itself is a powerful copy of the 14.6 billion year old desire of the I AM. Be smart, and know that the power of desire can be directed by proper education; but never repressed! Try repressing the Sun! For stars are also a process of desire. Desire will always be; However, taming that lion, doesn't mean it still isn't a "wild animal", it just means it accepts you within its instinctual limits. If you violate those instincts, it will devour you. Repressing it will destroy you, or others whose fear of you represses their desire to be. Repressed desire will always come out in an explosion of emotion that kills.

Never fear desire, for it is an "adorable fire", that must be kept under observation. For its instinct is "I Will Be", and there is no," ...but only if others say it is okay", for it is all consuming and if left alone to its own administrations destroys all. Love your dragon within, but watch it as well. The best way to tame desire, is to use the Mental power of I Am another way to be YOU. So practice doing unto others as you would have done to you. You may fail from time to time, but keep the desire to be united with the One, that we are all born with, and remember that "practice makes perfect", get back at it! You see, we all wish to be United to the One Energy (God-Spirit-etc) because we believe we are separated from It. We aren't, that is a lie of the Patriarchy, "the few upper 1%" who wishes to control your desires for their own consumptive purpose. We are all connected to the Universal Collective Unconscious and/or The Divine Creative, as I AM. However, society is based on a few controlling the imagination of the many. For when you control an individual's imagination, you control their desires, and can build a consumer based system, that consumes the limited resources of earth and therefore, destroys those who over-consume and their foolish rulers of definition. It best we watch that consumptive dragon in ourselves, so that doesn't over-feed and destroy the world. Just remember with expectation comes disappointment, for nothing goes as dreamed. The material world is resistant to motion, as every material thing is seeking a stasis so it can be "evermore". However, all things proceed from order to disorder, as the second law of thermodynamics states. All comes from chaos and to chaos it shall return. So just remember, to love is to suffer loss and to desire is to often be disappointed. Neither is wrong or bad, it is just the fact the things don't last. Only the NO-Thing is permanent. That has never stopped me from loving, nor desiring , nor should it for "I Am Being"!

When the Desire card is thrown in a divination, it implies:

  • What do you desire most?
  • Desire compels action.
  • How much do you want it?
  • Make another attempt.
  • With great expectations, comes great disappointment.
  • Ground you desires in reality (use your head).
  • What you desire will have a price.
  • Let your conscience decide.
  • Selfish desire mirrors a lack within.

In this Military Industrial Empire, which indoctrinates by dividing and conquering, we have forgotten our Lust for being a free Spirit of I AM, by dividing our spirit from our bodies and making it a "religion" that is outside ourselves and under the authority of the Patriarch; as if spirit was an achievement rather than the "breath within"- energy animating us. Because of this division-ism we have become automatons of our propaganda environment who are controlled reaction instead of the powerful positive active expression of I AM ME who changes environment by the powerful, Lust of Being. Imagination is Creation and the individual power of creation is hidden by clouds of babel called Propaganda. We are programmed by "pleasure-pain" training, that controls "our imagination" so that we think if we have a bigger diamond than someone else, we are better than they are. If we have a more powerful car, we are more powerful than our neighbors. If we have a greater salary that others, we are their "betters". All of which are for the purpose of dividing and conquering the individuals imagination and/or I AM and placing that powerful lust to be more, under the control of the "few who wish to rule the many", i.e., To rule is to control definition. Our I AM, is a Divine Inheritance, and not under the authority of anyone else, nor can words define the truth. Only manifestation can. You are a truth, you are manifested, complete with god-like power, to create your desires but when desire is controlled by a maniac, a lunatic, a megalomaniac whose doesn't want to pay the price that desire demands, by making others a slave to their desire; All live in a hell and the price will be paid.

The Thoth ATU 11-Lust card represents the powerful purpose of androgynous being where the imagination and rationale go forth as One Power. This is shown as the Anima (Spirit) with the Grail held high, filled with the "Scarlet womb" energy that is the primal force of Life, rides the Lion-serpent of Desire, from which all creation comes. The Priestess (key 2) is seen riding the Lust for life that is all around us, through us and is us. This card represents the I Am Me-the manifested Will to be. Hence, those who have inherited Image-making-power, (imagination) are the fulfillment of the One's great will to be.For the One Imagination is called the Creatrix, for in imagination, all image is formed!

The anima, and animus of The Universe, are reflected in the many faces of life that all are under the leadership of the Active Goddess. This is the universal principle of Passion, awareness and aliveness! This is also self-esteem, and the courage necessary to acknowledge the inner convictions so necessary to manifest as the Passionate Creative-Self. In all of us is this irresistible strength of Earth and Creation; this Divine Frenzy.

However, in most of us, we are divided against ourselves and devote the creative power of media, religions, ruler defined definitions of "self". Resulting in division of our inner forces and making us unable to call upon the inner power that cleaves us from our chains of fear based and propagandized self-imposed slavery. Our lust is now controlled by the greedy ambition of the few that use indoctrination (advertising, academia, media, culture etc) to make consumers of the many. Such a greedy person would be called one suffering from a mental-emotional disorder in one's family, and yet we let those insane few rule our creative power and because of a lie repeated over and over, and enforced, we don't even see it as false but as an unquestioned truth! Our image-making power is used against us, not for us. I AM an Image of the Divine Creative, for I know the Truth of Imagination. All is Imagined! All is Mind!

First off. You are not made of "words", you are made of truth. Truth is made manifest as Form. Data, understood becomes form. The Data of I Am (existence) whence understood, becomes In-Form-Action (information). Words are not truthful information, since one word fails to communicate the meaning of the speaker, as the receiver sees only the data they believe to be represented. In other words, we hear what we think, not what is meant. That is why a "picture is worth a thousand words".

We are Divinity dancing as the active Goddess and God whose self-expression is "Being"!

When this card falls in a reading, it means that you are in union with or you should be listening to the passionate roar of I Am that resides in your very essence of soul in order to find the bliss within that radiates you as it’s very creative and unashamed self. We live now! We are not to be "wanna-be's" who are the faux life of the past, hoping for a pretend future, therefore, not living the truth of today's passionate expression of I Am Me! Our definition belongs to no one, not our environment, not our parents, not our rulers and not our theologians –our definition belongs only to our passionate creative self as the Divine grant of “freedom of choice”. Divinity gave you the right to define yourself as an image of the Supreme Being (Qabalah tree of life). Peer pressure is not your definition nor controls it!

To those of magic, lust is not obsession with the opposite sex. It is obsession with being. It is the luster of Will- that ejaculated this universe of I AM into self- manifestation in the abyssal womb of “To Be”. It is the indivisible creative strength of I Am Me that radiates through us, outward, as a sun of creative passion that restores life in the dead. Therefore even in the most mundane indolence, we can dance!

-Eli Serabeth, the class text: Enfleshenment

We see in this card the universal myth known as "beauty and the beast". This key represents the beauty (Tiphareth on the Qabalistic Tree of Life) that is represented in all of us as combinations of talent, gifts, and creative resources which can quell our bestial natures. When our heart, mind and spirit are in a balanced combination of movement and repose--we manifest divine beauty. The multi-headed lion represents the beasts within which Beauty has tamed to do her creative biding. She expands and liberates the living from their past bonds of survival thinking onward to greater achievements of courageous creation.

Lust comes from the root word Lustre which is radiance. We cannot shine if we are not in our strength. Religions, have made us fear of our "beasts within" steadily weakening our Will to Be us until we cannot radiate our purpose on this earth. Beauty created us to radiate ourselves into the movement of life! We all have much more purpose than we can see! Strength and Lustre are inseparable partners in creation. This can easily be seen as a soft and spongy mushroom pushes through hard concrete as if the hard substance was mere soggy tissue paper. In all of us is this quiet manifestation of strength.

The Thoth Deck LUST card, key-11, replaces the STRENGTH, card which is Key-8 in the Thoth Deck. Strength is key 11, in most traditional tarot decks. Hence, it may be confusing when I place it in the Path of Teth (Serpent), which is normally called STRENGTH-Key 8. As I stated, I agree with Aleister Crowley's expansion of the STRENGTH card, into the LUST card, because it is the Passionate Vital Force of Universal Construction, "the motion within the movement" of everything. Lust is the Passionate expression of the- I AM as Two, the I-phallus and the Am-womb, who then Join to become One Passion that creates all, i.e... The Active and Passive force of Kundalini, and/or of the Lion-Serpent. It can also be called "Serpent theory" instead of the Quantum Physics "String Theory", where every particle has a serpentine string of active and passive energy with in it. In other words, there is within all, vibratory strings of Vital Fiery strong atomic Force. Thus, Lust, where active and passive forces come together, seems a more appropriate understanding of the underlying "motion" of Life. The Kundalini, or Fiery Lion Serpent is the vital aspect of Life Force, which in manifestation, is duality of passivity and activity. Kundalini is known as the Sacred Fire, when in its active phase, purposely unleashed by Will.

The UNIVERSE key 21, is the completion of the process begun in the LUST CARD, and you'll see the Woman figure riding the Lion Serpent on the Lust card, dancing with the Serpent Force in the Universe card. Both illustrations are veils, concealing of principles, though at different ends of manifestation. LUST is the beginning of the Microcosm and THE UNIVERSE is the completion of it. Both of these cards are of that which is Womb, at the Highest Level, the womb-man who has tamed the Lion-Serpent and the womb-man who dances in space surrounded by the Cherubim of the four elements are both expressions of that which is the EMPRESS- Key 3.

Again, this is a very powerful path and those of sensitive psyche, will be profoundly affected. One must appreciate the fact, that this Path of Teth, Lust Card, is a statement of methodology; whereby the Will controls the Vital Life Energy. We must also remember, that the word Power, means "the ability to do work" and our body, if loved as a master Craftsman loves and adores one's favorite-tools, gives us Will - to-Power in this dimension of crystallized energy; a power to weave our very own Vital Life Force into masterpieces of movement and repose! So let us all ride the “Lion Serpent” or Inner Dragon, with the powerful presence of loving control and shameless presence! This is the Divine Frenzy that obliterated one and split into two. It

Self-annihilation is also the process of becoming two, Force and Form, who then become One Dragonish expression of Frenzy and Form, when the Red-Babalon (Crowley’s spelling for purposes of Gematria) unites with the Golden Fiery Force of the Solar Husband, the offspring are Beautiful Monsters/Gods. Genetically modified Organisms derived from Angelic and animal interbreeding, the Nephilim, that is created to challenge the rules of limits and expand them, shape them by the Lust of Self to be, but not to eliminate them altogether. For the power of limits, is manifestation.

This requires a focused willful spiritual intelligence, and not some mad Hatter type of personality, that can't even control its own thought or imagination.

Scry the Lust card only after you are capable of holding one thought or image focus during an entire meditation! Any Psyche that Touches the Lust OF The Great Father/Mother, will be profoundly charged, changed, and expanded beyond comfortable perspectives; all of which can be dangerous to our delicate denial based egos.

In other words, one must be diligently trained in channeling higher and higher vibratory levels of Vital Life Force, before they "Ride the Lion-Serpent". That is why A. Crowley calls the Traditional Strength card Lust. For even the "little lust" of the manifested (Microcosm) seems to be beyond the cultural ego's control, as every politicians "secret life" of greed and sexual conquest will show. It is hard to imagine, what the Macrocosmic Lust would do to such a weak psyche... but then again, we have examples in Adolf Hitler, etc., where lust becomes a violent form of masturbation.

The Lust card represents a very important initiatory formula for dealing with Serpent Power. This Spiraling Power is the Force that opens, stimulates or spools up all the Chakras (energy centers) in the Human body. The Principles embedded in the Lust Card, tell us how to use this power. This is a "Divine Frenzy" which when stated alchemically becomes; “the heat of the furnace makes the Stone" or if religious; “inflame thyself with Prayer". The Heat applied, is the Great Passion at friction in the confines of a condensed magnetic field that is the human. This Heat or burning is experienced often in Tantric exercises, or the exercise of the Middle Pillar (Aleister Crowley's book, 777), all of which I recommend the interested party research.

Crowley's imagery of a naked woman riding a many headed lion-serpent may shock some, as he presents the Whore of Babylon, taming the Lion-Serpent but then he understood that the epitome of virginity (sign of Virgo), was the Sacred Virgins of the Temples, before Christianity, made them "evil women" or Saints, of which both perspectives were confusingly applied. The Christian word 'Whore" is a bastardization of the Greek word, Hetacrate, meaning female companion. Something more for the diligent student to investigate! For if you manifest as male, you soul becomes your "female companion" and if you manifest as female, your soul becomes your "male companion". All because, energy flows from polarity to polarity. From Male positive to Female negative polarity.

When the Lust card is thrown during a reading:

  • It means the querent is relying on spiritual powers to manage the situation at hand and is receiving the strength to overcome.
  • Following one’s own inner light, doing what their "heart of heart".
  • Inner -self, says it is right.
  • There can be an experiencing of a "gut level" driving force, instinctual. And compelling for protection or survival.
  • Also, possessing the courage of one's convictions.
  •  The strength of Passion, in the Higher Nature, which are dragon like power, courage, energy, action and magnanimity.
  • One is experiencing the Law of Self-Domination, self-rule and self-control
  • This card represents the querent’s' passion, awareness, and aliveness
  • A symbol that you have a strong faith in your abilities. You have no qualms about relying on the spiritual powers within in order to handle the situation at hand.
  •  In other words you radiate your inner beauty

If ill dignified by the surrounding cards, it implies:

  • Weakness.
  • Lack of fulfillment.
  • Depression.
  • Aggressive perversion  and addiction as a result of oppressed instincts.
