Thoth- 2 of cups-love

The 2 of Cups-Love:

The 2's of all Tarot suits are ruled by the forces of Chokmah, the 2nd Sephiroth called Wisdom even though Chokmah is a state of Pure Maleness or rather the beginning of the idea of maleness, and that the 3rd Sephiroth-Binah called Understanding is that of Pure Femaleness, or the beginning of the idea of Femaleness. Another way to say this is the concept of Will to Force is becoming electric, while the concept of Will to Form is becoming magnetic. Therefore, Chokmah-Wisdom and Binah-Understanding are the first "lovers".

However, both Sephira are aspects from Kether that is Primary Energy before O=2; Kether can be called and "intersex" *force. However, sexuality as we understand it, is not vast enough of an idea to encompass even a minor understanding of the Supernal Triangle. To help with the confusion, Pure Male is Electric Force and Pure Female is Magnetic Force. But again, understanding of these 2 Forces is not complete and separating them is an illusion. The first "Sex" is Spirit, which is neither male nor female and prevails over "sexuality" in all living beings.

*The idea of just 2 sexes, is outmoded and disproven as in some instances their are cultures that acknowledge 4 or 5 sexes. Medical science now calls what the ancient Greeks call Hermes/Aphrodite and/or hermaphrodite, intrersexual.

The Thoth Deck Two of Cups is also called the Lord of Love and this is easily seen as it represents Venus in Cancer. The angels of the Decan are: Ayoel and Chabooyah. Have fun with those sonic sounds!

The 2 of Cups is the influence of Chokmah in the Mental world of Briah .

Cups represent the Alchemical Element Water, which is the Unconsciousness, and Cancer is a watery sign that is the House of the Moon, so the matchup is obvious. Jupiter is also exalted in Cancer thus implying benevolence in this most sensitive of signs.

Therefore this is a card of feeling and romance in the human world, so misspent energy may apply. Generally, fish are a symbol of the Goddess Venus but dolphins relate more generally to Neptune or the Sun god Apollo.

On the Thoth 2 of cups, we can see (by careful scrutiny as the colors are somewhat faded) a Silvery Dolphin and a Golden Dolphin, The Silver one represents the Moon, Female and the Golden one represents The Sun, male. Here the union of both is loving, romantic, as they work together to bring light into our world. The harmony of male and female which is also the nature of the Water Sign Cancer.

The Water of Emotion, or Consciousness, springs up from the Central Lotus, flowing down into the overflowing cups to ultimately reach the Earth. This imagery implies that only through the energy supplied by Chokmah-Fire, can water flow. E-motion, is energy in motion, and the "motion within the movement' is Chokmah's domain.

In Qabalistic Gematria (the book 777, by Aleister Crowley), the number 2 refers also to Will, so the 2 of Cups can also imply Love under will or Willful Love. The 2 of Cups radiates a perfect placid harmony, amid joyous ecstasy...often called the "adorable fire", which refers to the inner radiance of Spirit.

The symbols on this card seem subtle, but they represent both the male and female forces that are separated to create diversity and yet joined; as a couple, and as the Sun above the castled phallus and the Water that is symbolically moon and female shown as a lake surrounded by fertile earth that is all covered in exuberant vegetation, produce all things from the vital flow of Love.

There may be a tendency to think of this card as one would the Major Arcana Card of the Lovers. But that is not always so, as the 2 of Cups is about Love being physical, between two human partners, whereas, the Lovers Card-key 6- refers to the inner Hermetic Marriage of the love that is the Yin Yang, balanced in harmonious union as the inner Self.

broken image

To a Qabalist, Key 6 rather than the 2 of Cups, would be the Love of Binah and Chokmah, of Wisdom and Understanding. However, the surrounding cards will show if this is the Hermetic Marriage of the Goddess and God within and/ or of 2 Soul's who wish to mate or 2 bodies in lust, in the human world. Here is where the intuition of the Reader is most helpful as well. For Love is such a powerful energy motion (emotion) that it can overcome all limits of restriction and burn away in pure "adorable fire" (Dr.Paul Foster Case), any reasoning. The Electromagnetic Force/Love is one of the 5 Forces of the Universe. Everything that is form, is made of all 5 forces combined in various states of prominence.

Those faithful readers who have been following my blog know by now that Binah is "Will to Form", an underlying force that makes data into information/in-form-action, by understanding it. She is the Will of the Womb of all forms, not the Womb itself for that is reserved to the Action of Chesed the Sphere of Mercy, which is both Male-expressive and Female-receptive.

Again the sexingof these forces results in limiting and/or short insight. Chesed may be Masculine in its expression of architecture, and yet it is feminine as it receives the Will of and Understanding of Mother Binah. Chokmah maybe the “pure masculine force”, yet Chokmah is Hebrew noun and therefore, a feminine word as it is for the Greek Goddess of Wisdom, Sophia. The interplay of masculine and feminine Qualities constitutes all Sephira. That is why they are all inseparably connected by paths.

What may surprise you, is that none of us are the sex of our bodies. We are Androgynous/intersexed, in that we are both receptive (female) and expressive (male); both magnetic (female) and electric (male). Being Electromagnetic entity, we are both sides of the same coin. Therefore, we have great Divine power, "to be or not to be" male or female or even both!

The body is a tool, powered by the Electromagnetic Entity that you are....as a power tool the homo sapiens sapiens body is excelled, but as its operator, you are beyond the reason of and sexing of bodies. You are obviously a "Will to be" which is very much a "Will to Form" and a “Will to Force” so here is a kicker, YOU ARE THE IMAGINATION ...you don't have it. All the images you see are “Self-Images”! Welcome to the I-Magi-Nation. I Ma, is the image maker.

When it comes to Knowing yourself, it is helpful to remember that Hu is a Mandarin word for God and Man is from the Hindu word for mind---Manas. Therefore, you are called a God Mind and not a body at all! The body is not described in the world human. So you are a Hu-Man (soul), who owns a body/avatar (active in-form-action) in a story that you are telling yourself.

Image-maker, is what the Imagination means, and that dear soul is Divine Creative's Power. So get off of your suffering butt and stand up and Yell-----I AM Me! And get on with you, and imagine your divinity, for self- impeccability is what you came to do! Remember, what we command by declaration in this Universe produces our own image, take charge of yourself and stop blaming environment, or person or thing, sure they may influence, but they only have the power you give them. What you are is up to your Passionate use of Imagination and don't accept man-made definitions that only stimulate your imagination to enslavement of your image to another, person, place or thing. You are Imagination; the I-Magi-Nation! When imagination and love flow as one perspective; You Are Divine/Spirit in manifestation, flowing through the body as a luxurious warm sensation that is known as the "adorable fire". Love, comes from us to another, as a force of attraction. That means: you must love yourself, before we have true love for others. For one cannot give what one doesn't have. Hence, the inner-female/Anima and the inner-male/Animus, must be united in a communion that creates an inner I AM, that is the One Mind of the Universe. For that Mind is Love, and it is 0 that equals 2. Each of us are Spirit and each of us are I AM, and each of us create a "Me", our own "golden child", which is not made of the words of mankind nor is identity composed of the reactions of others.

the tarot of the spirit- two of water-sacred cord

The Tarot of The Spirit- Two of Water-Sacred Cord, also depicts 2 opposites joyfully merging; male and female, darkness and light, dry and wet, hard and soft. etc. These joinings are the foundation of bliss.

In the Sacred Cord, we have 2 chalices, containing the waters of the Cosmic Sea (Great Ocean of

Binah), overflowing like fountains. The wands appear as symbols on the chalices, as do the glyphs for Cancer and Venus. The wands appear as red stars, as Chokmah/Fire holding within the waters of mother. The unification of the Masculine and Feminine Forces is shown as 2 pyramids overlaid, and/or a six pointed star. The circle around the stars, depicts the eternal nature of union. The cosmic sea is ruffled, as it is in constant and perpetual motion (energy-in-motion) that is forever changing, and never the same at any 2 moments in time. This is not only the paradox of the two of water, it is also the paradox of love. 0=2.

The card above, shows the female force as dark energy and the male force as light-energy. The two figures have their hands joined in the "lazy eight" and/or lemniscate (ribbon) of perpetual movement and/or the infinity symbol of Western Magic. Here, the female force, is shown as navigating with wings, while the male force has flippers, for rapid propulsion in the Sea of Binah. Over their heads the "Spirit" that is Kether sanctifies their union. Hence, the "I will be" that is Kether, and the "Will to Force" (I Will Force) that is Chomah, and the "Will to Form" (I Will Form) is the Trinity of Self, that is the Supernal Triangle of the Qabalistic Tree of Life. Hence, this card depicts the ideal marriage of simultaneous bonding and individuation. Here the I AM's merge but each retains the individual "Me". The merging of these 2-I AMs , creates a more powerful individual "Me". This marriage happens both, within and without.
