tarot of the old path- six of pentacles

The Six of Pentacles of the Tarot of the Old Path is comparable with the Thoth Tarot 6 of Disks-Success.

The Six of Pentacles shows a smiling, generous, and mature man, offering a Pentacle to a pair of out- stretched hands.

The generous man is dressed in the greens of the element of earth, the ruling element of this card. His clothing is fur lined denoting wealth and social standing.

A pentacle rests in the crook of his arm, while five more rest in his lap. The sixth one is falling away, implying he has money to spare and is willing to share with those in need.

The primary meaning of this card seems to imply a generous nature with a good sense of business.

To reiterate; the 6's imply definite accomplishment and the carrying out of a matter.

However, 6 is not only several accomplishments, but also that of the Christ, Buddha consciousness. Therefore, it is implied that a certain sacrifice is made. The Number of the mythological Dying Gods, means, a definite personality transformation for reconstruction to bring success.

The 6 of Disks-Success, is aptly named The Lord of success, as the Moon is exalted in Taurus. Here the charm, subtleties, ebb, and flow of the Moon are merging with the hard work and deliberate earth qualities of Taurus, ensuring success in business and other earthly matters.

The colors on the Thoth Tarot Card-6 of Disks, are muted in this rendition; However, the center glows in dawn's light of rose-madder, surrounded by 3 concentric circles of golden yellow, salmon-pink, and amber. Suggesting Tiphareth, Beauty, fully realized on earth.

The usual arrangement of the Planets, as disks, are being irradiated by the Sun at the center. Again, Tiphareth is the Sun/Son and is here, idolized as the Rose and Cross in the center of this card. This is a forty-nine pedaled Rose of the Creatrix, implying the interplay of the Seven with the Seven. Also, the discs are placed in a shape of the "Wholly Hexagram" where the Sun is central to the other 6 "sacred" planets.

To a Qabalist it is known that The Feminine is never separate from the Masculine, for it is their interplay that makes Life.

When Thrown during a reading, the 6/Six of Disks/Pentacles implies:

  • Material attainment and accomplishment, but with a caveat dealt out by the law of Karma; you'll have to put out effort, to receive back success.
  • The successful cycle of income or security is steady and predictable.
  • The querent is also generous, sharing wealth, giving people what they are willing to receive.
  • The Disks 6 also suggests that money owed will be paid and the querent shall receive what is rightfully theirs.

If ill defined by the surrounding cards:

  • This card is a Midas touch card and has the prospect of manifesting the properties of the surrounding cards.
