Thoth-4 of swords-truce

broken image

Chesed the 4th Sephiroth is the Universal Architect, thus the 4's suggest perfection, realization, completion and fixing a matter to a rock solid stability.

In the 4 of Swords, this stability is a form of Truce, where equal tension, makes a stability of mental powers. However, Swords are the death/transformation suit and this equal tension can't be held long. Being on the pillar of Mercy, Chessed's nature will hold this truce as long as possible but there is considerable tension.

The 4 of Swords represents Chesed in Yetzirah, influencing the astral world.

As you may know, mental creation happens in the fluid light of the Astral World before the manifestation is solidified in the Material World. Now you may not be able to clearly see that you are not a body....You really are a Yod (hand of God) in the Collective Unconscious, so your Real body, is the Tree of Life....the human body is the incarnation, for sensual purposes, of your "dreams" and resides with in the solar corona of the Invisible you. That Invisible you is as Jupiter, and in this card, Jupiter is in Libra, Thus the normal destructive Swords, are put to rest in the munificent, benevolent and loving nature of Jupiter.

The Rose of the Mother is restored and the Unconscious/ Consciousness equilibrium is settled, and a rest from strife is implied by the 4 of Swords. Jupiter in Libra radiates compassion and sensitivity showing the Mercy that is woven in the architecture of Chesed. Here Jupiter claims authority in the intellectual world. Arguing for convention, Jupiter restores mental balance after the chaos of arbitrary thought.

In the 4 of Swords card, the hilts of the Swords, are formed into the corners of the St, Andrew's Cross, suggesting the rigidity and fixation implied in the 4. The Rose of 49 petals, in which the Swords are sheathed, suggesting social harmony.

However, there is a suggestion of compromise. As does Crowley, I find this compromise to be a less than positive factor. For it is an act of an indolent mind, that would rather be pusillanimous and compromise for social peace rather than work out the thought through the promised struggle. This Truce may be to keep the peace; but peace at any cost, is not always preferable and a Truce is not a signed peace treaty, where both parties agree to never fight again. A truce is where both parties are worn out by the conflict and agree to take time to regroup and carry the fight another day.

the tarot of the spirit- four of wind-mastery

The Tarot of The Spirit- 4 of Wind-Mastery, depicts a holding pattern where the querent has exhausted themselves by mastering a difficult task. A resting on their laurels, so to speak. However, disturbing influences are being felt within. A cautionary within because of clinging to desires of the ego.

Four butterflies are displayed in a glass case, having been analysed and pinned down. The bodies of the insects are swords, representing the 2 edge analytical power of the intellect. Since they are all pointing in one direction, implies that the original goal or idea has been mastered; the object of investigation is understood.

However, pinning down the butterflies has taken the life out of them. Motion ceases and a holding pattern is established. Swords are the "death" suit of tarot, and here the idea that "analysis presupposes a corpse", is one of the major lessons of the suit of swords. As the Gnostic Nazarene- Jesus was quoted to have said in the Gospel of Didymos Judas Thomas of the Nag Hammadi Library, (56) Jesus said, "Whoever has come to understand the world has found (only) a corpse, and whoever has found a corpse is superior to the world."

The rainbow system of chakras is shown beyond the realm of the holding pattern. These energy centers of the body are open and receptive to the Higher Will of the Self. For you must remember, you are not a fleshy body, you are the Energy That Enters it and animates It in your name of I AM. You began as a collective Psyche (7 light bodies) called a Soul, who is a Photonic Being, and not one of matter. Hence, the "Sun/Son of god" is the original "You". The rainbow stands for the rainbow covenant; its appearance brings the Original Will of the One/Kether which is known as Eheieh and/or "I Will Be". Therefore, the message of this card is that of the Thoth card.

When the 4 of Swords -Truce, is thrown during a reading:

  • There is mental understanding of a matter, or a relationship coming to full resolution on four levels of mental awareness: The Rational, The Emotional of the Unconscious, The Spiritual, and the Subconscious of the Physical.
  • Implications of problems that should not be ignored; listen to the inner self and answers will be restored.
  • A holding pattern after mastering a difficult mental situation.
  • Retreat or withdrawal necessary to heal or hide, by creating a protected mental space. Here insight can be generated by seclusion.
  • A moment of logic and discriminating intelligence of integrity and planning.
  • Social justice.
  • Tolerance.
  • Self knowledge and renewal through the experience of suffering.

If ill defined by the surrounding cards. the Querent is experiencing:

  •  A bout of illness in order to recuperate.
  • The intellect is relinquishing control back to the body so that a time out of from problems and solutions are achieved as the body has only one focus of getting better.
  • Forced retreat-illness.
  • Isolation.
