Above all things, know thyself.

Often I get people who ask me what the card of the day means. A card of the day implying a one card pull, means very little since it requires a pattern of at least 3 cards to make a mental plane and/or complete narrative. Recently a a person asked me to interpret a pair of Tarot Cards and I replied that 2 cards don't make a concise explanation. So they added another card. Let me explain:

Three Points Define a Plane: A Tarot Exploration

In geometry, three distinct points create a unique, flat plane—a concept that elegantly mirrors the interplay of energies within a Tarot reading. When we consider the Ace of Wands, the Priestess, and the Chariot as three foundational points, they together define a dynamic space—a metaphysical “plane”—that embodies the journey from creative inception to purposeful action.

The Spark of the Ace of Wands

The Thoth Ace of Wands is the point of ignition in this triad. It represents the burst of creative energy, raw potential, and the initial spark that sets a journey in motion. Just as a single point can be the starting mark on an infinite plane, the Ace of Wands invites us to seize a moment of inspiration and to plant the seed of new ideas or endeavors.

The Intuitive Depth of the Thoth Priestess

Complementing the fiery inception of the Ace, the Priestess offers an essential counterbalance with her realm of intuition and mystery. She beckons us to look inward, to trust the silent whispers of our subconscious, and to embrace the hidden knowledge that lies beneath the surface. In this plane, the Priestess ensures that our creative impulses are not merely fleeting sparks but are nurtured by deep inner wisdom and reflective insight.

The Determined Momentum of the Thoth Chariot

The Chariot, in its assertive determination, transforms these initial energies into forward motion. It embodies mastery over opposing forces, channeling the fiery creativity and the quiet intuitive strength into decisive, purposeful action. Where the Ace of Wands lights the fire and the Priestess fuels it with mystery and insight, the Chariot takes charge, steering that energy toward a tangible victory.

The Interplay: Crafting a Tarot Plane

When these three cards converge, they create a plane where each energy interlocks to form a complete narrative:

  • Initiation: The Ace of Wands instigates the creative process.
  • Inner Guidance: The Priestess provides the depth and reflective clarity needed to understand and refine that creative impulse.
  • Manifestation: The Chariot transforms that refined energy into concrete, triumphant action.

This triadic formation invites us to recognize that a fulfilling journey—be it creative, spiritual, or personal—requires the harmonious balance of these three forces. The plane they form is not static; it’s a living, dynamic arena where the spark of potential is continually fanned by inner wisdom and driven by willful determination.

In the language of Tarot, this “plane” reminds us that our greatest accomplishments arise when we honor the cycle of inspiration, introspection, and decisive action. Each card, a point on this metaphysical canvas, contributes to a broader narrative: one where the creative fire is kindled, nurtured, and ultimately set in motion toward triumph.

Embracing this concept can serve as a powerful metaphor in our own lives, urging us to cultivate balance—acknowledging that while raw inspiration is vital, it is through introspection and disciplined action that we ultimately manifest our highest aspirations.
