Thoth- 5 of wands-strife

The Thoth Deck 5 of Wands is named-STRIFE which is well shown in this card, as consolation and focus is definitely required in this scene of Wands and fire.

Artfully Lady Freda Harris displaying her knowledge of the Tantric Arts in the composition of the 5 of Wands-Strife. Here is a scene of three wands that could be called the Chakra Puja or Pancharmakara, or the Choli Marg Tantric rituals. You can look these rituals up in the Book: THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF SACRED SEXUALITY, by the author, Rufus C. Camphausen.

The objective of Tantric and Taoist sexual practices is to harmonize, balance, exchange and utilize the life energies (Vital Fire) set free during erotic play and sexual union. The Sexual Self is Spirit---it is the Adorable Fire of Life. In the instance of the 5 of Wands, the male electric-Fire is being heavily invoked by the Female Magnetic Water. Achieving an Electromagnetic surge which causes a great deal of physical sensual intensity and re balancing, causing a great deal of bliss and a higher vibratory nature of the body’s vital energy which is known as the Adorable Fire. To the well-studied student of Qaballah, this is the Masters Wand that represents the Masters Body. This is the Adorable Fire of Tantric, Gnostic, and Magick ritual….often called the Strife filled Ecstasy, which is always invoked by the communion of male electric and female magnetic.

THE THOTH DECK 5 OF WANDS-STRIFE, is known as the "Master's Journey" Card as it is the "Path not traveled" by the mundane:

To the Elements, the 5's bring serious problems of unbalance.

  1. The 5 of Wands-Strife, brings quarrel and strife in the Vital energy:
  2. The Five of Cups, brings disappointment to relationships;
  3. The Five of Swords, brings defeat to health and mind;
  4. The 5 of Disks, brings strangulation to income and business.

All seemingly very gloomy; However, the other cards in the divination will show how long the difficulty as well as, how serious the 5's are to be taken. Really, these nasty old 5's just announce that a difficulty exists and often the solution to the problem at hand is in the other cards of the Tarot reading.

The 5 of Wands also represents the Lord of Strife and astrologically is Saturn in Leo, which is the influence of Geburah (The 5th Sephiroth) in the World of Pure Spirit; Atziluth of the Four Worlds.

Here the powerful heavy effects of Saturn, united with a Fire sign like Leo, brings quarreling and Strife in energy. In other words, volatility.

The Angels of the Decan are Vahaviah and Yelayel, necessary knowledge for those who wish to call on them.

Wands are known as a continual outpouring of force, with Saturn influence, this flow of force is agitated and disturbed by Saturn's opposition to fast motion, not unlike water flow is disturbed by rocks, causing rapids or as one starts out on the "path least traveled" and finds no markers or surface wear to mark the way.

Thus in the 5 of Wands, there is contest unresolved. This is called the Master's journey card, for it is Saturn, the symbol for "father time" and with Leo, represents a lot of energy whose natural rapidity, is held back by the heavy burden of Saturn/Time. Lead is the metal attributed to Saturn; Hence, the leaded Master's wand as the center piece of this card.

In the 5 of Wands, are shown the Lotus wand of the Golden Dawn Adeptus Minor of Tiphareth, the Phoenix Wand of the Adeptus and the Major of Geburah, all crossing the central wand of the Major Adept of Geburah. The fact that the Major Adept Wand is central is because its position implies this severity is directed by Geburah rather than happenstance. The Phoenix wand implies resurrection from the purgation of Fire, while the Lotus Wand is of the Mother, and the Master of Geburah's wand implies "Mastery over Time". When one is worried about not having enough time, they are mastered by time, rather than a master of time. In the Rushing Rat Race of the modern era, time masters our reactions, shown by the strife filled faces in a traffic jam, as a good example. A Master of time, can even slow or speed up time, as time is merely limited to the perspective of the observer, sometimes viewed as an enclosure, of which it is not.

Many people find Geburah a difficult Intelligence to understand because she is as volcanic as Pelé (Hawaiian Volcano Goddess), all seemingly irrational disturbance. Yet these disasters are derived from the benign and gentle influence of the Feminine that is Great Mother Binah. To me, this just shows Spirits "tough love" for its incarnations. Spirit knows you are "It's Image" and therefore have the internal strength necessary to handle anything this World of man can throw at you. Yet, because we often believe the definitions of those who "rule definition", we see ourselves as a weakness, trying to become strong; this misconception is often corrected by facing our fears and/or strife.

All because we are taught to believe that mortality is a weakness, rather than the only way to experience the courageousness of our Souls that sacrifice peaceful bliss to learn discrimination through sensation. Immortals don't have need of courage.......they don't die. However, they also don't have sensuality which is needed to produce discernment. Therefore, Strife is a loving corrective not a punishment. When the Strife card shows up, we are reminded that Time is mastering our motion and it is time to reverse the process.

Sensuality requires a "beginning and an end", to exist. The very fact that Soul of you is seeking sensuality by building an incarnate persona, requires severity just to make it so and a fearlessness to make it happen! For example, a certain amount of friction is required to form energy into creations. Without the severity of friction/magnetic force, energy could not become form! Happiness is without the friction of severity in one’s life, and one would do nothing to change that lack of transformation; we don't want a change when happy, Without strife, accomplishment, progress and evolution would not happen! We Souls knowingly build an incarnation, knowing it can be a "crap shoot" and the soul is certain severity will be applied! Hence, you are never asked to face what you "can't handle", the Soul has created you as a Master form of Earth.

Geburah who is both considered as "Strength" and "Severity", directs change and the freedom to do so. She won't let entropy win. It is about time that we acknowledge that "I AM Time". For Spirit is timeless, Mind is unlimited potential, and body, is time. For all things of Time have a beginning and end, making time the "measuring tape" of form. Your Identity is I AM...and that is not a "thing of time", but rather the inventor of time as a measurement. Hence, the measurement of time is subject to the observation of the observer.

the tarot of druids- 5 of mistletoe

The Tarot of Druids- 5 of Mistletoe depicts a ritual of 2 Druids and 2 Celtic women. The women are holding a ceremonial cloth while the Druids place branches of Sacred Mistletoe against the cloth as if blessing it. In past blogs I mentioned that the white berries of Mistletoe were believed to be the semen of the Sun god Tarantus and therefore sacred to them as a medicine and antidote to poison. Since this card represents efforts to defend one's job, it may imply that the Druids, by blessing the work of these women, who most likely wove the white cloth that the Druids wear, are justifying their job as "guardians of the people". One of these woman is a warrior, as the horned helm sitting on the stone implies.
