The Thoth -5 of Disks-Worry:
Since Disks are cards that represent the physical world, this card represents physical worry, concerns, and rumination. It is a state of being conscious that dwells in the past and goes forward fearing the future and therefore doesn't live in the now. By not living in the now, we are not present today, which doesn't allow new perspectives or thoughts to change our mental emotional direction. This is a general effect of a long strain without action; a general state of inaction. Health, finances, work, relationships and/or creativity are the concerns here.
Astrologically this card represents Mercury in Taurus, also symbolizing communication worries in the physical world. Worrying about whether your communication efforts are coming across correctly or if you even have the ability to communicate at all.
By now we are familiar with Geburah, a state of energy that is severe in its function. Geburah is a corrective state of intelligence, whose severity is an action towards self-assessment, rather than anything karmic. In the 5 of Disks, we have Geburah-Severity, influencing the Material World (Assiah)
The Thoth Deck 5 of Disks, is traditionally called Worry, but also often called the Lord of Material Trouble by Aleister Crowley. Here Mercury is in Taurus. The angels of the Decan are Mibahiah and Pooyal.
"To Worry" something, is translated to English from Anglo Saxon, as the shepherds use the word, which is a type of "strangulation" a sheep dog does to a sheep. This strangulating is a biting and holding on to the Sheep's throat, which stops it in its tracks and is just for that purpose. Hence, we understand that the 5 of disks is so named because it stops all material events, such as profession or monetary gain, dead in its tracks.
Again, Crowley shapes this card as an inverted pentagram, which implies difficulties. He also placed the geometric figures of the Hindu five Tattvas in the individual disks, each symbolizing a Alchemical element of Fire, Water, Air, Earth and Spirit. In the Hindu system these are the underlying currents of matter.
Mercurial energy is opposed in Taurian earth, simply because earth has a natural tendency to be stationary while Mercury is swift motion. Granted it takes a strong Mercury to influence and unbalance Taurus but Geburah is just that strength. In fact, instead of Severity, she is sometimes called Strength and causes instability in the 5 states of matter. This instability is vibration, much like an earthquake, yet the 5 states of energy (5 Tattvas) have enough attraction necessary to hold together on the lower planes forestalling complete disruption. So this is more like the dog holding the sheep at a standstill, a kind of intelligence applied to labor. The 5 of Disks implies intense strain with long moments of inaction.
The 5 of Disks implies that perspective makes our present state of being, and if our perspectives dwell in the past we are “up-side-down” ---we aren't living today. This 5 of Disks card reminds us that we are presently inanimate, which is dead to action. We can change directions, be they physical, emotional or mental only by acting--moving! Begin with what you have even if your only action to hold out your hand for assistance, now and what-ifs are unimportant to motion as they only excuse inaction. It's time to break worry patterns by actively pursuing changes in communication patterns, financial, health, and in relationships with the Taurus people in your life. Worry is a type of mental lethargy whose chains are easily broken by activity. Live the now, you are not "a past person" you are an I AM Now person---an active and unique expression of alive motion.
One of the oldest names for the Supreme Being/Parambrahma/Allah is "HU".
HU is Indivisible Oneness;HU is Eternal & Omnipresent;HU is Love
HU, who was, is and shall be.
HE was called so by the Egyptians, Indians, Hebrews, Native Americans, Tibetans and Celtic too.
The All-Knowing Creator knew that English would be the predominate language for the 21st century when all the mysteries would be revealed. Therefore, he hid the mystery of mankind within the language, just in case we rejected the sacred scriptures.
HU-MAN HU, the first breath of creation, the creative word, the seed of fire; breathed into man the HU and he became a living soul. He became a HUMAN, Spirit, Breath Man, Vicegerent of Allah-Parambrahma.
The Oxford English Dictionary states that the word "God" is derived from the SANSKRIT verb root "HU" and the Sanskrit Word HUTA, which means "one to whom sacrifices are made."
EGYPT- HU is the power of the spoken word. He personifies the authority of utterance. So it is said that HU is the Word of God. HU is the creator God. It was believed by the Egyptians that His first breath and sound was "HU. HU was called the Protector of man.
SUFI -In Sufism HU or Huwa is the pronoun used with Allah (Arabic word for the indivisible Oneness), and is used as a name of that Oneness. Allah HU means "Allah, Just He. There is no reality, only Allah", or in La Ilaha Ila HU meaning "There is no external god only HU".
HOPI & ZUNI Nations - Native American Indian dance rituals, HU, also known as HUhuwa and Tithuis is the Kachina. Kachina is the life force that fills the universe. There is a sacred dance, called the HU dance. These dances are often performed in underground ceremonial rooms which are only opened for the HU dance.
HEBREW- Adir HU is a hymn that's sang by the Jews during Passover. Adir HU = God is Mighty or Mighty is He. The sacred name Yahweh is often written YaHUweh and Yahshua (Jesus) is written YaHUsHUah. (This is very similar to the Hopi and Zuni name Huhuwa) In the most sacred unpronounceable name of God, there are (2) "H" YHWH.
Manas is a Sanskrit term which means "the sensory or processing mind" or what may also be known as the "sixth sense." According to yogic philosophy, the human mind has 16 dimensions, which are classified into four categories: buddhi, manas, ahamkara and citta .
HuMan means "God Mind"; Therefore, you have the power to overcome and exorcise the indoctrinated/cultural ego that has been programmed to be "you"- a false soul, the "worrier" who strangles your brain. The True Soul is a HU MAN, which in Egyptian Tarot of Thoth is Horus-The Energy/Sun of God.
The Patriarchy, a group soul archetype that took over the cultures of mankind began in the Military Industrial Empire that was Rome. Today, that empire still controls definition for Latin, the language of Ancient Rome is now used in Law, and Academia and the Eagle standard still flies, only the names of the Empire have been changed, which is the art of propaganda. Both academia and law are controlled definitions of this Empire; are controlled definitions of the Patriarchy as is your identity. It is time to "Above all things, Know thyself". You are a Divine Creation of I AM, not a man-made definition of "profit and loss"./"good or bad". The Great Liar, is your ego. Time to know the Psyche that is the Soul, whom your identity is really controlled by. To exorcise the indoctrinated identity that is the ego, is the "why and wherefore" of Qabalah and Tarot.
The Tarot of Druids- 5 of Anguinum represents savings and family assets to be used. Depicted is a young Celt discovering a "world egg" and/or Sacred Serpent Egg called the Anguinum. All around is the cold of winter, a negative time of worry and concern for the ancient peoples. Often a time of starvation. The egg represents an asset/savior in time of need and/or material trouble.
When the Divination brings up the 5 of Disks/Anguinum, the querent is going through a period:
- Of rumination, anxiety or concern...maybe all.
- Feeling left out of social events because of lack of money.
- Of challenges concerning insecurity, deprivation, and even exclusion.
- Where the mind is focused on survival issues and thus stopping creativity dead in its tracks as a feeling of helplessness and inertia takes over.
- There is a foretelling of material trouble for the next 5 weeks or 5 months.
- Of the next 5 weeks or 5 months, opportunities are presented to you for the release of worry about health, finances, relationships, productivity and to improve on your communication skills.
- The past, let's say when you were five years old, is what produces worry.
- Of intending to want to avoid discomfort, and try to compare present day events, to past ones.
- Locked into past pain----does not help us live in the present and this card reminds us to forget the what-ifs of yesterday, or tomorrow and to be the I Am of now.
If ill defined by the surrounding cards:
