Kether and the Four Aces.

Kether, is ....and that is about all that can be realized. It is the Breath of all that is not. It is the Dark Fire/Dark Energy that is unlimited and unseen yet is the Source of Energy from the Infinite unmanifested. It is the Pusher of all the Universe, a Motion within all Movement. It is the all-seeing, observer, who only observes. All that is comes from there, all that is returns to there. Only to cycle again. Kether is unexplainable, and in the Ace of Swords, Kether is depicted as the Crown, the Primary symbol of Kether, The other symbols attributed to Kether are the Point and the Swastika. Thus Kether is often displayed as a white circle with a dark point in the center. The Ace of Cups can be considered the Womb of Magnetic energy that gives form to the ejaculation of the "Big Bang". Hence, the Ace of Cups, can be considered as the Essence of Womb. The Holy Grail, to the Celts. The fact that this Druid Craft Tarot-Ace of Cups, is decorated in rubies, supports a popular legend that stated a "carbuncle" and/or ruby could shine a light in the darkness, like a lamp. This was because European Bards insisted that the temple of the Holy Grail was surrounded by a huge ruby, serving as a beacon, to guide Grail Knights, during the dark hours of the night.

The holiest symbols for the Paleolithic and Neolithic humanity, was the symbols of the womb. The womb was known as the source of life, the primary fountain head of every creative process. Hence, the Druid Craft -Grail, is shown as a fountain head of life giving waters.

The most revered shrine in ancient Greece was named Delphi, meaning "womb". A similar Druidic Shrine, which is still standing in Pembrokeshire, the Pentre Evan Cromlech, known as the finest in England. Early in its creation, it was completely enclosed, forming a dark cave, were initiates were placed for a number of days before a ritual rebirth from "Cerridwen's Womb".

A Salmon is shown leaping up a water fall. The Celt's thought that by eating a fish, new life can be placed in a Mother's womb. Their Hero, Tuan, was eaten in fish form by the Queen of Ireland, who thus conceived him, giving him a rebirth (Spence, 94). In another Celtic myth, fish were associated with "wise blood", emanating from the Mother-tree with its sacred fountain, in Fairyland (Briffault 2, 631). These "wise blood"clots, were called the blood-red-nuts of the Goddess Boann, and were eaten by the "Salmon of Knowledge" who swam in her sacred fountain. Therefore, also explaining the Great Tree with nuts, red jewels and the Salmon, as illustrated on the Druid Craft Tarot-Ace of Cups. It was also common for poets or bards to say, "Unless I had eaten the salmon of knowledge I could not describe it", when talking about a difficult subject(Joyce 1,439). The Crescent Moon, was also a common symbol for the Goddess.

As with all the Sephiroth of the Qabalistic Tree of Life, Kether , the first Sephiroth, must be approached intellectually just to form an intuitive concept of the Source (womb). For instance, we say that Kether is the point and as a symbol that is true, but the Point in not Kether. Just as she, "the image-maker", and/or "Womb-with-a-view", i.e. Imagination, built us in her own image, is true, but the Image is not Her but that of her "child".

We are establishing some principles with symbols; the first principle symbol is the crown. We may think because of our anthropomorphic perspective that this Force of Motion lies somewhere in our head, as a spacial as yet unawakened part of our brain; however, this is not the case.

The Crown represents the Holy Guiding Spirit, the crowning glory that we all aspire to even though it is a Force our brain is subordinate to. Because of George Lucas and his entertaining creation of modern myth, known as the Star Wars series of movies and books; "The Force" has been described as the personal Aspiration of all Jedi as if they were the knights of old who sought the Holy Grail. The word Jedi seems to be a word cross of Magi, Djinn and genius. Genius being a personal spirit guide or angel of Ancient Rome. The ancient Egyptians called the Three Magi, the Three Stars in Orion's belt that pointed to Osiris's star Sothis (Sirius), which "rose in the East". These belt stars were still called the Magi in the middle ages (See the Woman's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets- by Barbara G. Walker. Page 565). The Word Djinn is Arabian, and originally refereed to Ancestor Souls. Now this is all very interesting and we have a new word for Ancestor Souls, Jedi, whose power comes from the Three Sephiroth that make the Supernal Triangle (Supernal Womb), with Kether as the Crown, i.e. The Force. Again Myth is a story about a Truth.

All fun aside, Kether is the Crown from which all creation springs...as is observation in our mundane world. Observation, begins creation, thus the Point . The Point is complete unto itself with neither dimensions nor external definition. This would be called a "Singularity" in Quantum Physics or The Seed from which the Universe has grown. The Big Bang, the outward expression of this Seed that has been caused by a Force called Will, and formed by "will to Form" and/or Holy Grail which are shown as the Sephiroth on the Qabalistic Tree of Life. Each Sephiroth, is a crystallization of the latent aspects of Kether, either Phallic or Womb.

The Qabalistic God name of Kether is "I Will Be" or Eheieh, likened to the sound of breath. Because all Work begins and ends with Kether, The Ace, all ritualistic, or meditative work must begin with the invocation of the Highest Will. This idea alone, causes subtle changes and activity on the Inner Planes. The Collective Unconscious guides and directs us toward our Higher Self when we begin to imagine the "Light above".

To the Qabalist, Consciousness guides, motivates, transforms and even translates the Energy of the Divine Unconscious but does not create that energy, nor can it destroy it. Again Imagination is the Womb, but Kether is before Imagination. The "Will to be" (us), is not the same as "I Will Be", for one is individual and idealize, while the latter is without idea...the ideas of being came later in the conception of Time, as another latent aspect of Kether. The Will becomes three crystallized aspects. The I Will Be, Kether, becomes Will to Force- Chokmah and Will to Form- Binah, then Will to be- Daath.

The Number One is attributed to Kether, as 1, the ace, is the seed of all numbers, by simple addition. 1+1=2 and 2+1=3, etc. Everything seeming very simple until we begin to meditate on simple numbers and simple geometry. The symbol 1 could be pure 1 which is indivisible, so what do we really know? Symbols such as numbers, are themselves not what they represent. Thus Kether is Energy.......but we really don't know what that energy is.

However, we do know that Kether is not static, for the "First Swirlings" of manifestation are in Assiah, the Qabalistic Material World. That is why the symbol of the Swirling Swastika, which rotates around a point, is another symbol for Kether. It seemed the Nazi's had high ideas for their perversions and have taken an ancient symbol for the "First Swirlings" that cause manifestation and as in all indoctrinated propaganda, changed the meaning of the symbol to suit their vision of self-importance but that doesn't change the original meaning of the symbol.

"As above, so below”, in essence states that the Sephira of Malkuth, the Physical world, is equally as Holy as the Source. The Divine Creative and its Images (Self-imaginings), are undivided and inseparable. Our concepts of separation are just basically denial of our wholeness and errant belief that separateness makes us special. Much like the City Person who insists that farmers are "red neck" hicks, a form of lower life than themselves; even though their whole life is dependent on the good harvest work of the Farmer. Such people are indeed in denial. Much like a parasite, thinking it is more important than the host; such is believing that we are separate from each other. In truth, the City man depends on the rural man and vise verse; it is indeed time to expand our perspectives and "above all things, know thyself". |For one who knows His/Her Self, knows only One Superiority.

Finally, we must come to understand that Kether as Source of All is a quality unknown to us, but which we can symbolize to some extent. Thus when an Ace appears in a reading, it implies great power that is beyond our perceptions. The Essence of a Thing, the idea of seed.

In summary: Kether is the Crown, the Observer, the Dark Energy, that is. It is the Unknowable God of many religions, and yet as many of us know, religion is not God but rather man's defense against the knowledge of God. Kether is the Idea of the Big Bang, the point, the Singularity. The Aces are also essences, so they too are not easily explained.

The Four Aces are related to Kether, thus they are representative of the Pure Forms of Energy that are elaborated by the other cards of the Tarot Deck and/or Sephiroth. The consecutive elaboration of the Numbers, are Forces being woven together to form the Harmonic that is the World and Universe; a World that is 96% invisible to us. However, by combining the colors of the visible spectrum of electromagnetic light, we see that different combinations, make different color changes, such as blue combined with red makes purple, etc. This combination is the necessary diversity of creation and can be called harmonies. To a Qabalist, the numbered Sephiroth are either Force or Form and sometimes both in union depending on the Masculine expressive and female receptive aspects of a particular Sephira.

Each Ace is unique and is distinct in its degree of density and in its ability to do work as a specific function in the One Energy. Thus, each Ace is the Seed of an Alchemical Element. We think we know what seeds are, but when we look at one, we don't see the Tree it represents. We just "kind of" know the pattern of the Tree is in there. That is also our conceptions of Kether, we just "kind of Know" that it is infinite, but then infinite is a human concept and Kether can't be known...so this gets a bit tricky. Obviously open mindedness is required and the courage to keep asking questions until answers emerge. The Influence of Kether is all around us, we just have to trust it knows us even if we know it or not. Obviously we exist, and we are a combination of many factors, some if not most, unknown to us, so it is easy to trust the subtle. All in all, Knowledge built us, and that knowledge is ours to receive and understand.

Kether, the Source of All, is not known to us objectively, but its presence is subjectively understood as a movement within all that moves.

Thoth-ace of cups

The Ace of Cups is Kether in Briah, depicting the influence of Kether on the Mental Level. The Ace of Cups is the Root Powers of Water, an element used to symbolize the Consciousness and emotions (in combination with Fire).

broken image

The Thoth Tarot version of this Womb Card shows the wave action characteristic of physical water implying the activity that encloses and directs pure consciousness. As the Universe of Energy is woven out of waves of consciousness, mental frequencies called thought/ideas, hence, the Web in the background. The Thoth Tarot- Ace of Cups, shows us a magnificent Grail filling with "White energy", empowering the surroundings, with Spider Woman's Web emanating from it. For those of us who do not know the Myths of Spider Woman, she is a Native American description of the Great Mother Goddess who wove the fabric of the universe. Today we acknowledge time-space, as a woven grid of energy-----the similarity simply means that we have proven the Myth.

broken image

The Ace of Cups represents the secrets of Water in its original form. The Wyrd (weaving) of Atoms into flowing waves/currents of energy form. Water is the Feminine compliment (magnetic), the Moon- vaginal- womb to the masculine- electric- Sun-phallus.

Upon the Dark Sea of Binah (or Goddess Mari if Gnostic Nazarene/Essene) are Lotuses, two in one, that fill the Grail-cup with Life Fluid, that is either represented as Water, Wine or Blood according to the selected purpose of the symbolism. In such symbolism, the Lotus can be replaced by a Blood Red Rose, thus representing the Blood Red Sea of Binah from which all Life flows. The Blood Red Rose is the image for the "Rosy Cross" symbol.

Remembering that all Aces are the "seed" of a force, no matter how much imagery we use to describe "The Womb with a View" (I've called the Great Her this since I was very young), She is a Force that makes Form from "I" (ideas) by birthing "Am". To represent this amazing Force, in any form of metaphor is difficult at most, and a mystery in the least. It's like trying to identify the one who has left foot prints in the snow. You know someone has been there, but no conclusive clue on their identity. She is the Seed of all Life; of Energy as Form.

When thrown, the Ace of Cups, represents, the seed of a form, and idea beginning to formulate; a birth starting in the mind as a zygote that will take about a year to manifest its true form. Beauty, fertility, productiveness. The Mysterious Seed of Femininity.

The Cup, is the Womb of Form, and emerges from the Lotus ( a floral symbol of the Womb) implying the idea of Womb, the seed of the concept of conception and not a sex as of yet. Thus, the Ace of Wands is the idea of Phallus-ejaculation-electricity and the Ace of Cups is the Idea of Womb-reception-magnetism.

broken image

The Ace of Cups is derived from-Yoni Moon, as the Ace of Wands is from Phallus- Sun. Thus we have the "Holy Grail", the Divine Creatrix; here the dark Sea of Binah supports the Two in One Lotuses that fill the cup with Life Fluid, be it symbolized, by water, wine or blood. Two in One, is the realization of the Womb and Phallus.

According to Crowley, the White Light descending into the Ace of Cups is depiction of the Holy Ghost and/or Holy Spirit that enlivens all form, i.e. the male semen like flow of force.

The Holy Spirit represents the Moving- All- of Spiral- Energy that is the catalytic (Spermatic) agent of creation
