The Starman Tarot- Ace of Wands

The Starman Tarot- Ace of Wands, shows the flaming bristle pine branch of the Mother Tree, which is the wands symbol of this tarot deck. It symbolizes the pure, fiery creative potential that is fire. It really began as the first expression of "Will" in the Universe of Dark Energy. The Lesser ego likes to think of Spirit as something we have; However, that is "upside down" thinking, as Spirit is the fire behind the I of I AM and therefore, Spirit "has" us. Hence, we are conduits to be shaped by the heated passions of Will to Force (Father Creator) and Will to Form (Mother-Creatrix), that indicates a strong will, determination, self-belief and self-determination. As the Qabalists say, "Above all things,Know thyself"! Like fire, let nothing stand in your way as you create your vision of self.

However, it helps to remember a fire must be tended with care, constant vigilance and with a certain amount of distance between the flame and the consciousness. For the Divine Fire is Will to Force, and Force for its own sake, is destructive. For if you stare to close towards the Divine flame, it will mesmerize one, and begin going out of control, igniting passions stored in the dark places of your ancient survival instinct. Often zealotry will develop. Destruction follows such a burn. Will to Force, must be contained in a Self-Identity of of virtue; That is, True to thyself. The loving cup of the Magnetic Feminine "Will to Form", will contain such a fire, so that it stimulates life into an ever advancing identity of Self. So just remember oh inflamed and passionate one to do unto others as you would have done unto you. Hence, you are always true to thyself.

Interestingly, the artist, Davide De Angelis, has surrounded the Ace of Wands with a dark shadow. This shadow represents the fact that out of the Dark Energy and/or Dark Fiery light of Kether, comes the Fire of I AM. Just like out of a Dark Hole, comes a White Hole of light. Hence, Kether is shown as a White sphere in the Darkness of the Ain of limitlessness. There is also another reason for the shadow, for with the cause that is Great Passion, comes great effect of equal and opposite nature. It's best to be vigilant when working with fire.

The spermatic activity that is the Ace of Wands is shown as fiery spermatozoon swimming past the center of the ancient wand, for this is the first ejaculation of "Will" in the universal darkness. Kether the 1st Sephiroth on the Tree of Life, is called "Eheieh" in Hebrew. Eheieh, means, I Will Be and sounds like the exhalation of breath. Hence, a black hole exhaling into an exit as a white hole. This hansom card also is decorated with sacred geometry and Davide's own alien calligraphy.

Thoth-Ace of Wands

The Ace of Wands represents the Force of Spirit as the Element of Fire. It is the Radical or Root Force of the Fiery Motion that Moves all things. To those of us who need a pattern, the 4 Aces are said to be placed at the North Pole of the Universe, where they revolve and govern the revolution of the Universe. The are the power wielded by the Princesses. To a Qabalist the 4 Aces are the connecting link between Yetzirah (Formative World) and the Material plane.

The Ace of Wands represents the outpouring of energy in the Universe, It is the root of the Powers of Fire and is the influence of Kether (Dark energy) on the level of pure Spirit. It is represented as the Hebrew letter Yod. Yod is related to Kether, not only is it isolated and self-contained but it is also the formative graphic root for all other letters of the Hebrew Alphabet. Moreover, the Yod is Phallic. It is the Male-Fire (electric) that rushes out toward the Female-Water (Magnetic)

The Thoth Ace of Wands shows 10 Yods emanating from a primitive burning club. This represents the Primal force behind the entire Tree of Life that is composed of 10 Sephiroth and their connecting paths of energy transference. The entire Tree is a glyph of the Power of Fire, i.e. of Spirit. The scholarly student of Qabalah will find that the letter, Shin (Maternal Fire) and Yod (Hand)are often used interchangeably when referring to the Tree of Life.

Besides being a practicing Qabalist, I am also a practicing Tantric in the techniques of Yoga. To me and all those of a higher state of mind, the human body is a Divine- body. It is sacred and sanctified by the Creator and Creatrix and part of that sacredness is the sacrament of Holy Communion and/or sexual union which is an action of Spirit multiplying diverse self-image! It is Magick in a living form of two who must become one to flow in transformational power. I am of the opinion, along with many other intelligentsia, that there is no shame in being a human, or that a soul who owns one by giving it life, should not in any way be embarrassed for doing so! To make alive such a complex and intimate being is a high honor to any Spirit!

On the Qabalistic Tree of: Life, Kether is the Crown, the Observer, The All Seeing "I" that is self-reflected as everything else. It is the Unknowable God of many religions, and the One Energy of Physics. Religion coined the names of god, yet as many of us know, religion is not God nor is Science the end all to knowledge. Kether is the Idea of the Big Bang, the point, the Singularity.

The Aces are also essences, so they too are not easily explained.

The 4 Aces are related to Kether, thus they are representative of the Pythagorean Pure Forms of Universal Energy that are elaborated by the other cards of the Tarot Deck and/or Sephiroth.

The consecutive elaboration of the Numbers, are Forces being woven together to form the Harmonic that is the World. A World that is 99.6% invisible to us, in a Universe that is 73% Dark Energy and 23% Dark Matter. However, by combining the colors of the .4% visible spectrum of electromagnetic light, we see that different combinations, make different color changes, such as blue combined with red makes purple, etc. These combinations are the necessary diversity of creation, as well as transformative and can be called harmonies or the “spiral Sex action of Spirit”. In Qaballah, the world we see, is the called the 1% world. In physics, it is said that we see only .4% of the Electromagnetic Spectrum. Therefore, it makes sense to go beyond your sight, to the inner-self, for your knowledge.
