[From the Sepher Yetzirah and the Thirty-Two Paths of Wisdom:]
In Kether is the Radix of a Golden Glory and thence is there a pure, primitive and sparkling, gleaming golden yellow which is reflected into Tiphareth. This is the first reflected Triad complete. And the sphere of its operation is that of Shemesh, the Solar Light, and bestoweth Life, Light and Brilliancy in metallic matter, and it rideth the sphere of action and of the Sun. And YHVH
Eloah va-Daath is a God of Knowledge and Wisdom, ruling over the Light of the Universe; and its Archangel is Raphael, the Prince of Brightness, Beauty and Life. And the Name of the Order of Angels is Melechim that is Kings or Angelic Kings, who are also called the Order of Virtues, Angels and Rulers.
The 6 of Cups is also called the Lord of Pleasure by Aleister Crowley. Here the Sun is in Scorpio the Angels of the Decan are Nelokhiel and Yeyayel.
The influence of the Solar Logos/The Collective Psyche and.or Soul is-Tiphareth, in the Mental World known to Qabalist as Briah.
Because of its central placement on the Tree of Life, we know that Tiphareth in Atziluth (Beauty in Pure Spirit) means Victory after effort, shown as the 6 of Wands. Therefore, we see the 6 of Cups as Tiphareth in the Watery World, (Mental/Emotional World) as the beginnings of Pleasure.
Noted to be a sign of discrimination, magnetism and hidden qualities, Scorpio, in the Six of Cups, is like activated Water by Solar influx. Here, Scorpio revels in the Sun, and is likened to a Fertile, warm, fruitful Sea--a Spa of Life generating qualities. Being a Sun in Scorpio, and a Scorpio Natal, and having a Moon in Cancer, I find my inner self is a bright pleasure to my Watery World of self-consciousness. Bacchus revels in my halls of hearth and heart as I live this card in a daily Glow of Bright Pleasure that comes from a constant contact with the Divine Feminine. And after my years of Tantric and Hermetic Qabalah practice, I have no need to seek it; I find that I Am it! Pleasure is a state of daily being me. The I AM finds great pleasure in being Me. Here the loss of pleasure that came from 0=2 and/or the Androgynous soul making itself to separate sexes, in order to manifest a "sense of being" on the condensed material plane of Malkuth, is now reinstated in the body as 2=0 again. Remember, electric energy flows from pole to pole here. Female is the negative attracting pole, and male is the positive expressing pole. She encloses the he, so that form can be created. This flow of energy between the 2, is shown as a lemniscate (ribbon of flow that makes 0 into 2) and/or the western magic infinity symbol.
Of course, Scorpio may sting where the Will directs; However, when the Will resides in Beauty-Tiphareth not the ego. Love is the Willful view of life as I AM and the scorpion's sting is reserved for those who would demean life with vial actions. Therefore, the Eagle of Scorpio flies above the illusion of ego. Hence, as the Sun/Soul activates the Forces of Scorpio, gain or pleasure commences. Implied, without assurance, is that pleasure and gain will build as shown by the partially filled cups that leave room for more experiences. Of course all this bright, warm, flowing pleasure within is impossible when the personality believes it is an ego. The ego is a Patriarchy device of indoctrination; identity controlled by rulers. The liar, the deceiver, the devil within, is this viral program that must be exorcised from you avatar's brain so that the True Persona of the Solar/Soul self my gain pleasing control of the body. Rulers want only compliance, while the Soul wants to be represented in this plane of in-form-action, by the avatar it has given breath to. The Soul is the evolution of Light as Self, I AM, before the death of Stars produced the atomic material worlds are built from. However, there is only one energy that cannot be created nor destroyed, only transformed and transmitted. And the "Suns" (your Soul) of the Divine Creative I AM are intelligent spheres, who wish only to be intimate with what is called "life". The homo sapiens sapiens, provides that wonderful intimacy, and it is powered by "a electromagnetic " being of photon evolution, called "the aura" which is known as 7 individual planes of evolutionary Self-Awareness that have formed a collective that condenses light enough to provide the bio-electricity that operates a body in the name of I AM-information and/or in-form-action. You are already a being of light, you don't need to seek it, unless you find that a fish in the ocean, seeking water, makes sense to you.(?)
Without a doubt, after periods of critical conflicts, this card implies the opportunity of profound change and a genuine new beginning.
I am sure by now, that one can see that Pleasure, being the natural title of this card, is not that of the mundane pleasures of the pain fleeing populace, but of the highest sense as the "adorable fire"; implying well-being, harmony of natural forces without effort or strain but with ease and satisfaction Yet it does emphatically represent the fulfillment of Sexual Will, as shown by the ruling Sephiroth, Tiphareth, sign of Scorpio, Planet Sun, and element of Water; A communion of fertile forces, that makes all life possible. The person who experiences this card in sensual being, knows this as the sexual ecstasy of the Solar Logos that blazes as a Sun in the "Sexual Chakra" or Swadhisthana chakra...the orgasmic ecstasy that never stops, but creates the glow in the crown chakra that ancient artists all created as the golden "halo". This is the state of the Highest of Sexual possibility, as in the union of Zeus Christos and the Mari of Magdalene, or of the Simon and Helen, even of the Shakti/Parvati* and Shiva...where one knows God is Sex (Sex is 6 in Latin and sexen in Egyptian, denoting copulation). The perfect Pleasure of the synchronicity of communion, where the female and male blend as one Shining Star of Intelligent Vital Life Force. Here the Crowley math of 0=2 becomes the 2 that equal 0. We lost "paradise", when we were made into 2 sexes, now the 6 of Cups implies that we have returned to "paradise" as the 2 become 0 again.
Interested students, should begin studying Tantric practices, as they enhance the practice of I Am, while slowly removing identity from the man-made ego. Tantra=Sanskrit word that means " to expand and liberate". Qabalah, is a Western Hermetic word that means "to receive". Hence, to expand and liberate receiving is the union of Qabalistic practice and philosophy joined with Tantric practices. You are a "living Star", not some yoked oxen that live only to serve their slave-master with his prods and propaganda. It is time to release the Power of Solar Fire, that you really are...but very carefully, for you mustn't allow the ego to be enhanced by all this energy and as long as you think the ego is you, don't try it. For then all your deepest negative emotions will be empowered to become a daily nightmare. Here the practice of Kundalini Tantra is recommended to achieve the easy tempering needed to become able to channel the internal solar fire of soul that lays coiled at the base of your spine. It is our inherited wealth deposited by the Soul, for a time when the body is strong enough and grown enough to handle this "inter-dimensional power of Self". I AM Light.
I recommend the books by Dr. John Mumford who is Swami Anandakapila Saraswati.**

*Who is Shiva and Parvati?
Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are two of the most important deities in Hinduism. Together Shiva and Shakti (who is the primary form of Parvati) are considered inseparable forces who work in unison for the peaceful existence and betterment of the Universe. In popular Hindu mythology, Shiva and Parvati are considered to be the ideal Divine couple.
The Tarot of Druids-6 of Chalices, depicts a somewhat comical image of a Celtic seasonal rite. One of these bonfire rites, is known as Galan Gaeaf and/or more commonly known among pagan circles as Samhain. This is comparable to the Thoth 6 of Cups card, as it is about establishing new relationships with old lovers and /or the return of old loves. Selena Fox, is a far greater authority on Celtic rites than I so here is a quote from one of her very informative articles. I suggest you click on to the link at the end of this quote.

As October turns to November, thousands of Witches, Wiccans, Druids, and other Pagans across America, Canada, Europe, and elsewhere observe the sacred time of Samhain. Samhain is a festival of the Dead. Meaning "Summer's End" and pronounced saah-win or saa-ween, Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest and the start of the coldest half of the year. For many practitioners, myself included, Samhain also is the beginning of the spiritual new year.
Originating in ancient Europe as a Celtic Fire festival, Samhain is now celebrated worldwide. The timing of contemporary Samhain celebrations varies according to spiritual tradition and geography. Many of us celebrate Samhain over the course of several days and nights, and these extended observances usually include a series of solo rites as well as ceremonies, feasts, and gatherings with family, friends, and spiritual community. In the northern hemisphere, many Pagans celebrate Samhain from sundown on October 31 through November 1. Others hold Samhain celebrations on the nearest weekend or on the Full or New Moon closest to this time. Some Pagans observe Samhain a bit later, or near November 6, to coincide more closely with the astronomical midpoint between Fall Equinox and Winter Solstice. Most Pagans in the southern hemisphere time their Samhain observances to coincide with the middle of their Autumn in late April and early May, rather than at the traditional European time of the holiday.
Samhain also has been known by other names. Some Celtic Wiccans and Druids call it Calan Gaeaf, Calan Gwaf, Kala-Goanv, or Nos Galan Gaeof. In Welsh, it is Nos Cyn Calan Gaual. It also is known as Oie Houney. A medieval book of tales, the Yellow Book of Lecan, reports that common folk called it the "Feast of Mongfind," the legendary Witch-Queen who married a King of Tara in old Ireland. In the ancient Coligny Calendar, an engraved bronze dating from the first century C.E.and dug up in 1897 in France, Samhain is called Trinouxtion Samonii, or "Three Nights of the End of Summer." Variant spellings of Samhain include Samain, Samuin, and Samhuinn.
With the growth and spread of Christianity as the dominant religion throughout Europe, Samhain time took on Christian names and guises. All Saints' Day or All Hallows on November 1 commemorated Christian saints and martyrs. All Souls' Day on November 2 was a remembrance for all souls of the dead. With the coming of Christian Spaniards to Mexico, the indigenous customs of honoring the dead at this time of year mixed with Roman Catholicism and gave birth to the Day of the Dead, Dia de los Muertos, in early November. Samhain shares the ancient spiritual practice of remembering and paying respects to the Dead with these related religious holidays of Christianity.
