Thoth- 2 of Cups-Love

Lord of Love.

The Upper Supernal Triangle can be compared to the Garden of Eden from here, the male and female polarities of energy balance against each other, evolving into increasing density as they develop towards the lowest 10th Sephiroth, Malkuth, on the Tree of Life.

In Qabalistic Gematria, the number Two symbolizes the union and balance of opposites that underlies all material existence. Because this equilibrium of opposites begins in Chokmah, it is called the Sephiroth of” Perfect Harmony”. While Kether is that which the “Root” of impetus is: Chokmah is the impetus for all manifestation. The Harmonic Union of opposites supplies that action.

Binah is Saturn, and Chokmah is the sphere of the Zodiac.

Ultimately Kether is Androgynous, Chokmah is the idea of Maleness (Electric/will to force) and Binah is the idea of Femaleness (Magnetic/will to form), and the mating of the 2 "wills the Electromagnetic Spectrum" into living form.

Gematria (/ɡəˈmeɪtriə/; Hebrew: גמטריא‎ or gimatria גימטריה, plural גמטראות or גמטריאות, gematriot)[1] is an alphanumeric code of assigning a numerical value to a name, word or phrase based on its letters. A single word can yield multiple values depending on the cipher used.

Gematria is a Hebrew alphanumeric code or cipher that was probably used in biblical times and was later adopted by other cultures. Similar systems have been used in other languages and cultures: the Greeks isopsephy, and later, derived from or inspired by Hebrew gematria, Arabic abjad numerals, and English gematria.

A type of gematria system ('Aru') was employed by the ancient Babylonian culture but, because their writing script was logographic, the numerical assignations they made were to whole words. The value of these words were assigned in an entirely arbitrary manner and correspondences were made through tables.[2] This practise was very different from the gematria systems used by Hebrew and Greek cultures, which used alphabetic writing scripts. Similar systems have been used in other languages and cultures derived from or inspired by Hebrew gematria, Arabic abjad numerals, and English gematria. There is currently no academic consensus over whether Hebrew gematria or Greek isopsephy was used first.

A well-known example of Hebrew gematria is the word חי chai ("alive"), which is composed of two letters that (using the assignments in the Mispar gadol table shown below) add up to 18. This has made 18 a "lucky number" among the Jewish people. Gifts of money in multiples of 18 are very popular.[3]

Once again our sensual ideas of sexuality do not apply on this Higher Scale of Communion. Here Maleness is the vital outpouring of electrical energy that is organized as will to force, limited or formalized by the magnetic qualities of Female will to form. Thus Yod is male and Heh is female, and the resulting offspring is Vau of the Divine Name that marries the Daughter who is the last Heh. Thus the Qabalistic name of God, Yod Heh Vau Heh, is represented as that attribute to the 6 lower Sephiroth in which Tiphareth (Beauty) is central.

As you may note, there are many interchangeable symbols in the Qaballah that may make it seem more complicated than it is. The essential key is that the Vital Outpouring Energy, which in intercourse with an organizing force, produces something else. For example, red combined with blue, creates purple by the motion of the mixer which in this case is Kether. Opposites joined in balanced harmony, produce something greater than the parents. This is not possible if exactly the same united with exactly the same, you would only get, exactly the same.

The Qabalistic tree of Life originated in the opposition of Chokmah and Binah. However, this is not static, any more than male- female union on earth is static, there is a constant back and forth motion of growth and movement ; a universal inhale-exhale. When a change occurs in one Sephiroth, there is a natural balancing response in its opposite. Therefore there is a continual exchange that could be compared to breathing, as the inhale exhale action that powers Life. In matter of fact, on the Tree of Life, the Uppermost Sephiroth is Kether, is known as Eheieh (Meaning I Will Be), that sounds like an exhale of breath and which sets the pattern for all below it. Like an electrical switch that is off, Kether is all potential, while Chokmah is the electrical switch in the on position. Thus Chokmah is function while Kether is potential. Kether is a "non-Being" while Chokmah is BEING.

Chokmah is the State of Self, where we dream ourselves into being, from a Divine State of Meditation. The dreamed is unaware of the dreamer as we dream ourselves "inside out" (we are infinite inward and limited outward; a type of Mobius loop), an ultimate fact of our Earthly existence. Thus you are the Master and the Masterpiece, the Transmitter and the Transmitted and once again, you can see that your only savior from dysfunction, is your inner self.

From One "I" (the all Seeing Eye) all identity becomes, so in actuality, we as different separate vibrational frequencies do not exist other than as one energy. However, we declare existence by stating "I AM". Then we set about defining that invisible principle of existence as a "Me".Thus manifestation is a simple three-word definition called, "I AM Me" of which you, as the spiral vibration of energy (spirit), hold total freedom to define. Since I AM Not, is impossible, as I Am- declares existence. Whatever you define as not being you, simply states, that it is you. For example, one plus naught = 1, Naught-zero- has no influence in potential. So “I am happy" creates happiness, while "I am not sad" creates only sadness. Time to rethink your power over the dream of you!

Since dimensions (Sephiroth)are descriptions of spatial terms, our life dream has specific dimensions as that is our best frame of reference. The Tree of Life is how the Qaballah describes these dimensional frames of reference as being a downward flowing evolution of Chokmah thru various levels of Self Dream called Sephiroth. To make this simple, we as Spiritual Beings are first dreaming our own existence, and that we are all, collectively (Universal Collective Unconscious), are what is known as God-Mind, which is the definition of the word Hu-Man (Sanskrit).

Meaning of Hu in word Human

Human equates to Godmind

Hu = God

Man = Mind

This process of evolutionary dreaming towards a more condensed and sensual dream self, is called the "fall", but it really is a "downsizing", that causes us to "lessen" our self-concepts to become more sensual and interactive, all of which is necessary for evolutionary thought production. Thus we lose sight of our own Divinity and must "reclaim" all the data we left behind on our "downward" journey into sensual dreaming... You may say that in manifestation, Malkuth, we are a lucid dream. Now the truth of the English word human, due to propaganda, has a different meaning, for it is about the illusion that is man, for we are living Souls/Psyche and not Human at all. Since we can imagine-self, just as the Divine Creative, we are indeed a god-mind. However, to be intimate with experience and therefore, producing Wisdom, we need a sensual body.

Origins of the Word Human
It is a common misconception that the word Human comes from the latin Humanus derived from the words Humus, meaning earth or ground and man. The problem is that the first know use of the word Humus (1796) came after the first use of the word Humanus (?-1384) of which it was supposedly composed. This deception of etymology is to cover up the true origins of the word human.
It is actually a composition of the words hue (?-900) and man, together literally meaning the colour of man or the appearance of man.
The idea of a human is really the idea which would later become race (1300). This idea of evolution, that one form of man is superior to the other as a result of gradual development. Thus the expression Human Race, ha, ha, ha, the race of the colour of man, ha, ha, ha…
This word is used everywhere and anywhere, except one place: The Bible. The Bible (1611 KJV) makes it clear that man is not in a race, man is a living soul. Additionally, the appearance and colour of that man is irrelevant in the Bible, the kingdom of heaven receives all kinds.
If we look at the later applications of the word human, it is clear to me that humanizing people (colouring people) was another way of justifying the ideas of race and inferior ape descendants that allowed slaveries and holocausts of Africans, Jews, Natives and Christians. Atrocities that would not have happened had the Bible and its laws been followed.
Hitler talked about the master race and he learned such things from Madame Blavatsky's Theosophical Society. The Theosophical Society was founded on a combination of Plato's atlantis and Darwin's evolutionary theory, or On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life. These ideas rejected the true God and replaced Him with the modern 'we're all god' attitude that has swept across much of 'civilized society.' But, in reality, the Theosophical Society and its patrons believe they are the descendants of Odin and Thor, the nordic gods.
All of the nations that have used this logic to kill, steal and destroy, which is all of them, as governments have been lead down the path of destruction. Lets leave this word human behind and call ourselves man, woman, as God intended. Our kind accounts no colour or genetic superiority; Jesus Christ came to give hope to sinners so we all could have a shot at salvation.

The knowledgeable goal here is to get the inner dreamer (Soul) and the dreamed (Human) to cooperate with each other and thus the Dreamer and Dreamed combination than begins to get control over its life happenstances. This is a truly extraordinary experience and is the making of a Magi. Here the Union of Dreamer and Dream has no veils between them, and we can have anything at all, but we no longer experience the "need" of the disconnected. We Love, without need, we created without fear of result. We want nothing at all because we become I AM Divine rather than I Don't Have. We learn what does matter and what does not while we go about the Great Work of "As above, so below"... Soul Brain connection.

The Tarot 2’s:

From the Golden Dawn Texts:

The four Deuces symbolize the Powers of the King and Queen; first uniting and initiating the Force, but before the Prince and Princess are thoroughly brought into action. Therefore, do they generally imply the initiation and fecundation of a thing.

The 2 of Cups-Love:

Previously I explained Chokmah, the 2nd Sephiroth called Wisdom and is known as Will To Force, and by now one should understand in some detail, that Chokmah is a state of Pure Maleness or rather the beginning of the idea of maleness, and that 3rd Sephiroth Binah-Understanding who is known as Will to Form is that of Pure Femaleness, or the beginning of the idea of Femaleness. Another way to say this is the concept of Will to Force is becoming electric, while the concept of Will to Form is becoming magnetic;

However, both are from Kether that is primarily before Androgynous became 2 and/or 0=2. That is why this is love in a more spiritual sense, as the 2 now seek reunion as 0. As explained, sexuality as we understand it, is not vast enough of an idea to encompass even a minor understanding of the Supernal Triangle and the Souls it produces. To help with the confusion, Pure Male is Electric Force and Pure Female is Magnetic Force. But again, understanding of these 2 Forces is not complete.

The Thoth Deck 2 of Cups is also called the Lord of Love and this is easily seen as it represents Venus in Cancer. The angels of the Decan are: Ayoel and Chabooyah.

broken image

The 2 of Cups is the influence of Chokmah in the Mental world of Briah .

Cups represent the Alchemical Element Water, which is the emotional consciousness, and Cancer is a watery sign that is the House of the Moon, so the matchup is obvious. Jupiter is also exalted in Cancer thus implying benevolence in this most sensitive of signs. Therefore, this is a card of feeling and romance in the human world, so misspent energy may apply. With tails intertwined are 2 Dolphins-fish, generally, fish are a symbol of the Goddess Venus but the dolphin fish relates more generally to Neptune or the Sun god Apollo. Hence, the dolphin which is a fish, relates to both.

On the 2 of cups, we can see (by careful scrutiny as the colors are somewhat faded) a Silvery Dolphin and a Golden Dolphin, The Silver one represents the Moon, Female and the Golden one represents The Sun, male. Here the union of both is loving, romantic, as they work together to bring light into our world. The harmony of male and female which is also the nature of the Water Sign Cancer.

The Water of Emotion, or Consciousness, springs up from the Central Lotus, flowing down into the overflowing cups to ultimately reach the Earth. This imagery implies that only through the energy supplied by Chokmah-Fire, can water flow. E-motion, is energy in motion, and the "motion within the movement" (Will to Force) is Chokmah's domain.

In Qabalistic Gematria (the book 777, by Aleister Crowley), the number Two refers also to Will, So the 2 of Cups can also imply Love under will or Willful Love. The 2 of Cups radiates a perfect placid harmony, amid joyous ecstasy...often called the "adorable fire".

The symbols on this card may be subtle, but they represent both the male and female forces that once joined; as a couple, and as the Sun above the castled phallus and the Water that is symbolically female as a lake and fertile earth all covered in exuberant vegetation, produce all things from the vital flow of Love.

There may be a tendency to think of this card as one would the Major Arcana Card of the Lovers. But that is not Qabalisitically so, as the 2 of Cups is about Love being physical, between two human partners, whereas, the Lovers Card-ATU/Key 6- refers to the inner Hermetic Marriage of the love between the Yin Yang, balanced in harmonious union as the inner Self.

To a Qabalist, Key 6 rather than the 2 of Cups, would be the Love of Binah and Chokmah, of Wisdom and Understanding between anima and animus. However, the surrounding cards will show if this is the Hermetic Marriage of the Goddess and God within or of two Soul mates in the human world. Here is where the intuition of the Reader is most helpful as well. For Love is such a powerful emotion that it can overcome all limits of restriction and burn away in pure "adorable fire" (Paul Foster Case), any reasoning.

What may surprise you, is that none of us are the sex of our bodies. We are Androgynous, in that we are both receptive (female) and expressive (male); both magnetic (female) and electric (male). Being Electromagnetic entity, we are both sides of the same coin. Thus we have great Divine power, "to be or not to be" male or female or even both! Hence, once again, the human body is an illusion.

The body is a tool, powered by the Electromagnetic Entity that you are....as a power tool the human body is excelled, but as its operator, you are beyond the reason or sex of bodies. You are obviously a "Will to be" which is very much a "Will to Form" and a “will to force” so here is a kicker, YOU ARE THE IMAGINATION ...you don't have it. All the images you see are “Self-Images”!

Remember, Hu is Mandarin for God and Man is from the Hindu word for mind---Manas, before the Latin, and thus you were once called a God Mind! The body is not described in the world human. So you are a Hu-Man-Living Soul, who owns a body as an avatar.

Image-maker, is what the Imagination means, and that dear soul is the Divine Creative's Power. So get off of your suffering butt and stand up and Yell-----I AM Me! And get on with you, and imagine your divinity, for self- impeccability is what you came to do! Remember, what we command by declaration in this Universe produces our own image, take charge of yourself and stop blaming environment, or person or thing, sure they may influence, but they only have the power you give them. What you are is up to your Passionate use of Imagination and don't accept man-made definitions that only stimulate your imagination to enslavement of your image to another, person, place or thing. You are Imagination; the I-Magi-Nation! When imagination and love flow as one perspective----------You Are Divine in manifestation flowing in luxurious sensation that is known as the "adorable fire". Or as Crowley states in his Book of Thoth-pg.,196} "This card might really be named the Lord of Love under Will for that is its true and full meaning. It shows the harmony of the male and the female: interpreted in the largest sense. It is perfect and placid harmony, radiating and intensity of joy and ecstasy."

Gothic Tarot- 2 of Cups

The veil of night into immortality.

The Gothic Tarot- 2 of Cups, shows a "loving" cup full of vampire's delight. 2 vampire bats, are the only suggestion of love here, and I am not certain if it is love of each other or the love of blood that motivates this couple. Again, one must know the Tarot, before trying to read these Gothic cards, as they are more about Gothic images than any Tarot tradition.

When the 2 of Cups- Love, is thrown during a reading:

  • The querent is in a deep love relationship
  • The joyous bliss of receiving as one has been received.
  • A loving and healing union of opposites propagating a compassionate and caring response.
  • The recent loving bond of consciousness and unconsciousness reconciling the harmony of what seemed opposite. Such as the merging of unconscious desires with those of the Heart.
  • The beginning of a love affair or pledge of deep friendship.
  • Ideas generated between two partners in cooperation and harmony.
  • The merging of Lover and beloved.
  • A healing harmony where quarrels and disputes are resolved.
  • Romance, trust, sympathy, and desires consummated, vows, engagement and marriage, all permutations of active partnership.
  • Where the action of body and Spirit are in sync.
  • Union of man and woman.

If ill defined by the surrounding cards:

  • Disillusionment.
  • Separation.
  • Conflict of interest.
