the manara erotic tarot- 1 of earth ( terra )
The Erotic Tarot-1 of Earth, depicts a sultry female surrounded in olive leaves. This card represents the Instinctual mind, that is the Mind of Earth. Yes, it may shock you, but meta-physicists ,Gnostics, practitioner's of Western Hermetic Magic, and most "pagan" religions, always knew that Earth is a Sentient being.Truth being she has visited me many times; not as a bush, or weed, or animal, but as a female in the shape of the Homo Sapiens-Sapiens, as that body also belongs to her. I have met her on top of mountains, where no one but I was sitting. She would show up out of "no where" and sit down next to me and great me as "husband" and then offer something strange sustenance to me such as "dried seaweed", for she is always of a nurturing nature. Being knowledgeable, I would accept her offer, even if I had to "choke it down". We would then engage in a conversation, the like of which only good friends can. After such meetings, I would feel refreshed, happy and full of life. The lovely mossy, earthly smell of her would stay with me for days. Earth actually loves us; the "nasty" children that despoil her. That alone teaches me a lot. I suppose that ranks me right up their with her Animus, Pan...Well I kind of am an "old goat".
The Earth/Erda/Gaea, governs the body and our knowledge of it and the instincts and sensations which this knowledge brings about. She'll often visit the seeker, as an animal guide (the Homo Sapiens-Sapiens is also an animal) for her senses are those of manifested beings of her organic material. She also controls the loving relationship with this body, something that our Spirit must learn, as we have been granted by Earth, the freedom to control it with the Macro Cosmic Wisdom of our inheritance. We come from stars, and must join the Stella Intelligence, with that of Earth. "As above, so below". We didn't come here to "ascend", we are the "descended" masters of Mind who must master form as well. From the 4 worlds we have progressed to get here. Once again, sometimes going down is up. Yod Heh Vau Heh.
Milo Manara has given this card the meanings of:
The Astrological meaning of the earth element implies imaginative and productive states of consciousness.
As mentioned, Kether is symbolized as the Point, The Crown and the Swastika, and if you have been following the blogs, you know the point to imply completeness unto itself, without dimension or external definition.
- The Point is also attributed to the number 1 which mathematically has the potential for all other numbers.
- The Diamond Crown symbolizes the Holy Guiding Spirit to which we may aspire.
- The Swastika, is actually a Buddhist symbol for the "First Swirlings" of manifestation and represents the swirling motion around the Point that emphasizes self-contained motion.
To reiterate, the Four Aces are the Root Force of the Alchemical Four elements. The Ace of Disks is the Root Force behind physical manifestation that governs the motion within the movement of Matter.
Thoth-ace of disks
The Ace of Disks, represents the influence of Kether, "The First Swirling" in matter or the World of Assiah, as Qabalists call it. It is a card of materiality, but not necessarily good or evil, nor is it necessarily wealth.
The card is in the Green of Spring, new growth, and the Aeon of Isis, the Mother of Form who is normally shown as Emerald green, but in the Ace of Disks the Aeon is shown in spring green after the Resurrection of Osiris as Horus; Horus being the New Aeon.
The Wings represent the Four Arch-Angels whose powers balance each other and create stability through the Four Elements. The six wings also represent the number of the Sun and the implied union of Earth and Sun that creates the living organic organism that is the living earth.
As we know atoms to swirl, and planets to revolve, we know that matter is a swirling motion and not a static one at all. Thus the card implies swirls and movement within a stable image or as Zoroaster Stated, “rebounding, whirling forth, crying aloud." Implying swirling frequencies of energy that cause motion.
The Greek words for “to the mark the beast" appear in the center of this card. The number 666 also shows in this card, this all shows the Earth to be the world of the Animal, as its highest form. The God-Mind (Hu-Manas=HuMan) has changed this by expanding the mammalian predator by Genetic Manipulation of “fallen Angels” and/or "those who from the sky came", the Annunaki, and the Animal DNA of earth. Thus, the human body is a G.M.O, for the purpose of advanced evolutionary work; The Great Work, which is to bring the above and the below into perfect union. Although, the Beast is seen by some as a lowly thing, the Divine Creatrix has seen the Beast to be worthy of Angelic status. I don't presume to question Her in this, I just exalt in my inheritance. Doing my best to be the "As above, so below" and a "keeper/caretaker of her property".
According to Crowley, the central Hieroglyph is that of "the chosen priest and apostle of infinite space," (The Husband),"The prince-priest the Beast"< [Liber Al. I.15.]. Thus, the Phallus/Lingam is shown as the central symbol of this card, as that is the symbol of Tetragrammaton ("rebounding, whirling forth, crying aloud,") again showing the Sol (Phallus) Luna (Yoni) union of that is the rhythm of life. Crowley took this card as his personal Hieroglyph, so deep study is required to understand his deep and subtle meanings implied by this card. Purchasing his books and reading them over and over is this author’s suggestion to get the brain on the right track, then deep meditations, to get the soul on even keel with the Will of the One.
