Thoth- 9 of cups-happiness

The 9's all refer to Yesod, the 9th Sephiroth that is the Foundation of all manifested forms and forces on Malkuth-the physical and material plane.

The 9's, generally show very great fundamental force because they rest on the Firm Foundational Base of Yesod (9th Sephiroth on the Tree of Life). 9's represent purity, there for 9 of Cups is pure-conscious- emotional power, so that means it can be used negatively or positively, depending on the perspective of the user. Discrimination is the Key here.

The 9 of Cups is also known as the-Lord of Material Happiness, is Jupiter in Pisces. The Angels of the Decan are Saliah and Asriel.

The 9 of Cups is Yesod/the Moon in Briah, (see-The Four worlds) influencing the Material World. Here, the benevolence of Jupiter, effects happiness and satisfaction in the Earth plane (Malkuth), by functioning through the Water of Pisces.

The 9 of Cups-Happiness is a card of sensuality and pleasure, more mystical than convention allows, and less stable than the 10, but is now flowing and reaching towards the mystical states of ecstasy. Here, sensual pleasure, may be felt as a religious experience as the influence of Jupiter is strong in the passive, receptive and somewhat psychic character of Pisces. Jupiter in Pisces also indicates pleasant travel by water and brings good fortune through occupations governed by Neptune. The personality inclination here is a tendency for kindness, quiet and unassuming, with an unambitious approach to life. If the planet is well dignified, there may be a more ambitious but happy approach to occupation.

The Square arrangement of the Cups, on the 9 of Cups, overflowing into one another, suggests Chesed-Jupiter and the perfection of Water force, a dreamy current of Consciousness which is also reinforced by Yesod-9, being the number of the Moon. Pisces brings out the most Placid form of Water (consciousness), so this card is an unconscious Happiness well-spring that floods into our normal state of consciousness.

The recipient of this Happiness, really doesn't ponder a reason to be happy, for their own consciousness has not reasoned it out as a logical way to be.....they "just are" and they feel "good all over". As you are this far into the blogs you know by now that Yesod, the 9th Sephiroth, is the Foundation of all manifested forms and forces that project into Malkuth-the physical plane. The 9's, generally show very great fundamental force because they rest on the Firm Foundational Base of Yesod.

The Square arrangement of the Cups, overflowing into one another, suggests Chesed-Jupiter and the perfection of Water force; a dreamy current of Consciousness which is also reinforced by Yesod-9, being the number of the Moon, the planet (in astrology it is considered a planet) of illusion and reflection. One thing that becomes apparent in this state of happiness, is that "stuff" and possession of things, has nothing to do with happiness. Happiness is a communion of Spirit-Mind-Body. Hence, it is more metaphysical than the mundane understanding of happiness. It begins in the inner-self and wells outward, rather than coming from an outside event or condition.

The Tarot of The Spirit-Nine of Water-Rainbow Mirror

the tarot of the spirit- nine of water-rainbow mirror

The Rainbow Mirror, is about a moment of high self-esteem that brings on a strong sense of internal integrity and inner security. The glyph for Jupiter (bottom left) and the glyph for Pisces (bottom right) adorn the wind blown plain. Depicted are the 9 Sephira of the Qabalistic Tree of Life radiating white light in all directions, with the 10th Sephiroth-Malkuth as the wind blown plain of green. Tiphareth, the 6th Sephiroth representing the "Buddha Consciousness" and/or the Soul, appears as a search light of white light encased in green and yellow moons as if searching the heavens and transmitting the energy found there. In this card the "rainbow bridge"* crosses the abyss. This is the knowledge of True Love.

*Rainbow Bridge - Reiki Rays

Oct 03, 2013 · I am talking about the “Rainbow Bridge” or Antahkarana. Antahkarana is a part of spiritual anatomy. i.e. the soul’s anatomy. It is the connection between our brain and our higher self. Most of us have connected to our higher self in second degree Reiki! It is the only three dimensional symbol used in Reiki.

9 is also the level of opening chakras. Rays emanate from the One-Kether and begin to move through the levels of the subconscious/Moon. Now, all spheres of the Tree of Life are perceived at once. When one looks at Kether on this card, they see the 8 spokes of Gautama Buddha's eightfold path that appear as a wheel.

  1. Right views.
  2. Right aspirations.
  3. Right speech.
  4. Right conduct.
  5. Right livelihood.
  6. Right effort.
  7. Right meditation.
  8. Right rapture.

Hence the key to happiness is seeking truth through inner love and higher wisdom of the eightfold path. When Spirit-Mind-Body are aligned with the Cosmic Will of the Macrosopous/Macrocosm.

So when the 9 of Cups-Happiness or the Nine of Waters, is thrown during a reading, it implies:

  • Contentment and Satisfaction.
  • Everything looks and feels "rosy".
  • The querent, is enjoying self-esteem and inner joy; flowing feelings of inspiration and joy.
  • The dull thunk in this chiming joy, is that this is temporary, as Change is the stability of the Universe.
  •  "The cat is away, so the mice can play", kind of moment. Before reason takes over, and finds the logical points of survival thinking that messes up "unmitigated joy".
  • The Ideal of Selflessness. Where all is a collective of One Self.
  • Optimism and trust in the future.
  • Charity.
  • Internal and external happiness.

If ill defined by the surrounding cards of the divination:

  • Self-complacency.
  • Vanity.
  • Arrogance.
