Tiphareth: The Golden Soul of “I AM the Light”

From the Sepher Yetzirah and the sacred mysteries of the Thirty-Two Paths of Wisdom, we receive this revelation:

In Kether, the Crown, resides the Radix of Golden Glory—a pure, primal brilliance of sparkling, gleaming, golden yellow. This Light is not yet refracted, not yet clothed in form—it is the ineffable brilliance of the Divine Essence. From this eternal point of origin, the Light is reflected downward into Tiphareth, the sixth Sephirah on the Tree of Life, completing the First Reflected Triad—Kether, Chokmah, and Binah as manifest in the realm of the Solar Soul.

Tiphareth, as the Sphere of Shemesh (the Sun), is the visible radiance of the Invisible Crown. It bestows Life, Light, and Brilliancy not only in the spiritual realms but also in the world of metallic matter, symbolizing the alchemical transmutation of leaden personality into golden soul-consciousness. This sphere rides the current of the Sun—the Sphere of Action, illuminating the path of the incarnate soul seeking return to its origin.

The Divine Name here is YHVH Eloah va-Daath—a sacred fusion of the Tetragrammaton with the Divine Feminine Eloah and the Sephirah of Daath, Knowledge. This signifies the God of Wisdom and Knowledge, a Logos-Self who rules over the Light of the Universe, guiding it into form and comprehension through the power of the Solar Logos.

Presiding over Tiphareth is the Archangel Raphael, Prince of Brightness, Beauty, and Life—the Healing Light who reunites fragmented selves and restores them to harmony under the solar intelligence of the Soul. His healing is the restoration of true identity, not merely of the body but of the psyche, as it becomes one with its own radiant nature.

The angelic hosts of Tiphareth are the Melechim, the Angelic Kings, also called the Order of Virtues or Rulers. They govern the path of right action, balanced power, and radiant virtue, establishing Kingdoms of Light within the incarnate world.

Thus, Tiphareth is the Sun/Son, the Solar Child, the Soul emanated from the Divine Creative Will. This is your true identity—not the mask of ego or the shadow of indoctrination, but the Psyche in its original glory. This is the “I AM the Light”, the radiant Self who knows its source, reflects it, and lives as its conscious vessel.

Crowley said it best in his Book of Thoth, pg., 199:

"Pleasure", in the title of this card, must be understood in its highest sense: it implies well-being, harmony of natural forces without effort or strain, ease, satisfaction. Foreign to the idea of the card is the gratification of natural or artificial desires. Yet it does represent emphatically the fulfillment of the sexual Will, as shown by the ruling Sephira, planet, element, and sign. "

🌊 Thoth Tarot – 6 of Cups: The Lord of Pleasure

The 6 of Cups, called The Lord of Pleasure, is a card of radiant beauty and erotic delight—yet not in the profane sense of indulgence, but as a reflection of spiritual ecstasy, born of the Soul’s harmonization within the Mental World.

Astrologically, this card represents the Sun in Scorpio, and the Angelic Governors of its Decan are Nelokhiel and Yeyayel—intelligences that guide the emotive forces of water into harmonious pleasure and regenerative healing.

In the Qabalistic schema, this card depicts the influence of the Sun (Tiphareth) within the 6th Sephirah, operating in the World of Briah—the Mental or Creative World, associated with Water and Archangelic intelligence. This world is the Formative Womb of Mind, where the patterns of the Divine are shaped before becoming manifest in Yetzirah and Assiah.

In contrast, Tiphareth in Atziluth—the Fiery Archetypal World—is shown as the 6 of Wands, Victory after effort, the triumph of the Will through ordeal. However, in the Watery World of Briah, Tiphareth’s energy becomes receptive, and we see the first blossoming of emotional delight, the beginnings of pleasure, not as indulgence but as soulful harmony and joyous communion.

Here, the Sun rejoices in Scorpio, an oft-misunderstood sign, whose fun-loving, sensual, and regenerative side emerges when embraced by Solar warmth. Scorpio, as fixed water, seeks deep fusion, and the Sun brings illumination to those depths, transforming desire into spiraling rapture—a fusion of soul and body in the dance of Solar-Sexual joy. This joy is not hedonism but rapture born of unity, the Soul remembering its divine origin through erotic innocence.

Thus, the 6 of Cups speaks of pleasure as healing, as the return of innocence to the mind, where joy becomes a mental clarity—an erotic intelligence that reunites the Self through love, beauty, and creativity. It is the Sun at home, radiating in Scorpio’s temple of deep emotional truth. This ecstasy is a Spiral Energy Rapture, a coiling ascent of pleasure that leads upward to the divine, as Kundalini awakens through the joy of being.

♏🌞 Scorpio in the 6 of Cups: Solar Waters of Erotic Discernment

Traditionally noted for its powers of discernment, magnetism, and occult depth, Scorpio, when aligned with the Solar Light in the 6 of Cups, undergoes a luminous transformation. Here, Scorpio becomes not a creature lurking in the depths, but Water activated by Solar influx—a radiant ocean stirred to life by Divine Fire.

In this harmonized state, Scorpio revels in the presence of the Sun, no longer hiding in shadow, but becoming a Fertile Sea—warm, luminous, and fruitful with regenerative pleasure. This is not a raw or chaotic desire but a tempered, sanctified eroticism, where the passions are cleansed by the Solar force of Tiphareth and redirected toward the Soul’s delight.

The result is a Spa of Life: an inner alchemical bath where the waters of the subconscious are warmed and clarified, creating a generative field of spiritual nourishment and joyful renewal. These are the Solar Waters of Briah, filled with the electric pulses of Love, Intelligence, and Sensuous Knowing.

In this card, pleasure is not escape—it is remembrance. It is the Soul, once clothed in the silks of form, rediscovering itself through emotional beauty and inner harmony. It is Scorpio redeemed, bathing in the light of the Higher Self, no longer the sting of repression but the song of rebirth.

🌞🌊 I Am Pleasure: A Solar Testimony of the 6 of Cups

As a Sun in Scorpio, with Libra Rising and a Cancer Moon, I know deeply the currents of emotional alchemy. My inner world is Water, yes—but it is not cold or passive. It is solar-heated, warmed from within by the bright intelligence of the Soul. Through the initiations of time, meditation, desire, and discipline, my waters have not drowned me—they have transfigured me.

This was not always so. There are depths to Scorpio and Cancer—unmapped trenches of the psyche, where shadows once stirred. But over five decades of metaphysical practice, of Western Hermeticism, Qabalistic Tarot, Tantric invocation, and Pranayama breathing, I have cultivated a vessel strong enough to hold ecstasy without breaking.

Bacchus, that divine reveler, was once a mythic ideal. Now, he dances freely through my heart and hearth. I live the essence of the 6 of Cups—not as a seeker of pleasure, but as its embodiment. I no longer chase pleasure like a thirsty soul chasing a mirage in the desert.

I AM Pleasure.

Pleasure has become my default state, my frequency of being. And as with all true power, especially emotional power, it demands balance—a sacred triad of Spirit, Mind, and Body. When these are harmonized, the body becomes more than flesh. It becomes a melody of bliss, vibrating with the resonance of the Philosopher’s Stone.

The body does not produce Spirit. Rather, Spirit inhabits the body, animating it as Prana, the Solar Lifeforce that enters from the 6th dimensional reality of Self—known in Qabalah as Tiphareth, the Sephirah of Beauty, the radiant center of the Soul.

This Spirit breathes you. The very word "Spirit" is derived from the Greek Spiro, meaning “to breathe.” Therefore, every breath is a kiss from the Soul, a whisper of your true identity in the Universe. You are not simply a body seeking pleasure
You are Light, encoded in plasma, moving through form.

And when the Solar Child within you awakens, when Scorpio’s once-hidden waters are kissed by the Sun, then and only then do you realize:

You were never seeking joy. You are joy seeking experience.

🕊️ Medieval Feathers Tarot – 6 of Cups: Continuity

“Where There Is Pleasure, Let It Endure”

In the Medieval Feathers Tarot, the 6 of Cups – Continuity speaks not just of emotional harmony, but of the sustained commitment to that which brings soul-deep joy and resonance. The six cups shown are gathered, grounded, and centered, forming a stabilizing constellation of emotional maturity and supportive connection. These are not fleeting vessels of temporary gratification—they are sacred grails, bonded through shared intention and enduring care.

In their center rests the feather of the pink-necked green pigeon—a subtle yet profound symbol. This bird, known for its fidelity, vibrant colors, and gentle grace, embodies emotional intelligence, motivation, and softness with resolve. Its feather acts as the catalyst of continuity, reminding the querent that emotional fulfillment is not a peak experience—it is a garden that must be daily tended.

This card urges us: what brings pleasure and feels secure must not be abandoned prematurely. You may be in a state where what you’re working on seems solid, promising, or even joyous. The message is: keep going. Do not interrupt the current. Flow with it. Do not sabotage your success out of fear or fatigue. If the risk feels too great in this moment, pause—do not quit. Revisit it later when the emotional climate is more supportive but honor the path of pleasure through perseverance.

It also speaks to the necessity of repetition. Like an alchemist distilling the same elixir over many nights, or a musician perfecting a beloved song, you are reminded that practice polishes power. Consistency crafts mastery. The joy you seek deepens through continuity, not through novelty alone.

🌫️ If Reversed:

When reversed, the card signals a loss of emotional color. That which once inspired now seems faded or dull. You may be experiencing a state of emotional stagnation, where the waters no longer flow but grow still and murky. This disinterest is not a failing—it is a signal.

In such moments, the Qabalist would say: the Cup has been emptied, and must be refilled from a new source. Take a sacred pause. Seek novelty not as distraction but as a current strong enough to break the emotional dam. Explore something different—something that lights a new fire and renews the waters of inspiration.

Remember: in both directions, this card is a message about energetic flow—whether sustained or redirected, the key is always conscious continuity.
