Thoth- 2 of Disks-Change
#2. Through me its unfailing wisdom takes form in thought and word.
The Medieval Feathers Tarot- 2 of Coins
"The pastel artistry of the Thoth Tarot's Two of Disks—titled Change—brilliantly depicts the Hermetic principle of Harmony through Change. At first glance, this concept may seem to threaten the survival-driven instincts of the subconscious mind, which equates security with control, predictability, and fixed structure. But this belief is a phantom, a trick of thought born from the ego’s fear of dissolution. In truth, no day, no moment, no breath ever perfectly repeats itself.
This card reveals that Change is not disorder, but a higher Order in flux. The ouroboros serpent forms a lemniscate of eternal motion, showing the alchemical cycle of renewal: destruction and creation are not opposites, but partners in transformation. In the Hermetic worldview, Change is the heartbeat of the Universe, the very engine of the Great Work. The Two of Disks reminds us that equilibrium is not a static state—it is dynamic balance, constantly readjusted.
To harmonize with Change is to become a conscious participant in the turning of the cosmic wheel—to dance rather than stumble, to adapt rather than resist. Here, the initiate learns that true power comes not from grasping at permanence, but from flowing skillfully with the inevitable metamorphoses of Life. The 2 of Disks invites the adept to shift their center of gravity from fear to fluidity, and thereby find the serene core within the storm."
"There exists a persistent belief—strategically perpetuated by those who seek to dominate the desires and compulsions of others—that carbon in its crystalline form, most famously as the diamond, is among the most precious substances on Earth. This illusion of value is not born of intrinsic life-force, but rather of market manipulation, monopolistic glamour, and linguistic enchantment—a spell of self-worth cast by commercial sorcery. Despite their volcanic abundance and utter lifelessness, diamonds have been exalted as emblems of status and permanence. Yet, their only real utility lies in industry: in cutting, grinding, and sanding. Even their aesthetic appeal is a byproduct of craftsmanship—not nature.
In stark contrast, the true miracle of carbon lies in its mutable form—the organic lattice upon which all life is woven. It is carbon’s adaptability, its tetrahedral willingness to bond and transform, that makes it the cornerstone of biology. Life, therefore, is not symbolized by rigid perfection, but by perpetual transformation. It is inherently dynamic, a dance of constant reconfiguration. The Hermetic axiom 'as above, so below' is reflected in this atomic truth: all creation moves through Change. The Second Law of Thermodynamics, stating that all systems tend toward entropy, affirms that stasis is illusion, and that permanence is the death of growth.
Chaos is not the enemy—it is the divine animator of form. Through its ever-turning wheel, all things evolve, dissolve, and recombine. In this alchemical light, it becomes clear that Life is the precious jewel, not the diamond; and the true philosopher's stone is not fixed crystal, but carbon in flux—forever becoming."
Contrastingly, living organisms thrive on the adaptable nature of carbon atoms, which serve as the fundamental building blocks of life due to their malleability and capacity for change. Hence, Life itself is inherently dynamic, defying any attempt at complete stability—a truth underscored by the principles of entropy and the second law of thermodynamics, which dictate the progression from order to disorder in all things. Chaos, the driving force behind universal change, ensures that forms continually shift, preventing the onset of total entropy and/or stasis.
"At its core, creation is not a sterile act, but a sacred communion—an erotic unfolding of energy into form. The process of manifestation is inherently sexual in the Hermetic sense: a polarity of forces merging to give birth to new states of being. In this great alchemical marriage, the carbon atom stands as the primordial Priestess of Life, a molecular embodiment of the Scarlet Woman—She who is called the Harlot not in shame, but in exaltation.
Carbon, with its unparalleled willingness to bond, forms the basis of organic life by linking with countless other elements in an infinite variety of structures. This promiscuity—its four valences reaching out like open arms—makes it the universal matrix of form. Just as the Scarlet Woman of Thelema drinks deeply of all experience and radiates creative power through surrender and desire, so too does carbon embrace all, birthing complexity through contact.
And yet, carbon is not an Earth-born entity. It is forged in the fiery wombs of ancient red giants—those scarlet stars whose final acts of brilliance scatter the seeds of life across the void. Every breath we take, every cell in our flesh, is a testament to their ecstatic death. Thus, the Red Stars are the cosmic temples where the Scarlet Woman gives birth to the matter of worlds. She is not merely myth—she is stardust clothed in metaphor, both atomic and archetypal.
In this way, the Scarlet Woman is not only a spiritual symbol of liberated femininity and divine desire, but also the literal creatrix of all incarnate life. She is the Mother of Carbon, the Bride of Chaos, and the ever-receptive vessel of becoming—whose sacred harlotry is nothing less than the matrix of existence itself."
It's not only red suns that produce the carbon atom, but red giant stars (often referred to as "red suns" in more poetic or simplified language) play a crucial role in carbon production.
Here's the breakdown:
Carbon is primarily produced in stars through a process called the triple-alpha process. This occurs during helium burning, which only happens when a star has left the main sequence and entered the red giant phase.
Key Points:
- Main sequence stars (like our Sun) don’t have the conditions for carbon production during most of their life. They mainly fuse hydrogen into helium.
- When a star exhausts its core hydrogen, it becomes a red giant. At this stage, the core gets hot and dense enough to fuse helium into carbon through the triple-alpha process.
- This is true for stars that are at least about 0.5–1 solar mass and above. So stars like our Sun will eventually make carbon — just not until they become red giants.
- More massive stars (several times the Sun’s mass) go even further, producing heavier elements, but carbon creation still begins during the red giant phase.
In short:
- Red giants, not just "red suns", are the stellar forges of carbon.
- Carbon is not formed in all red stars — only in those that have the right mass and have evolved into the red giant phase.
- It’s a universal stellar process, not unique to a specific star color, but connected to the star's evolutionary stage.
The Scarlet Woman and the Carbon Atom: A Western Hermetic Metaphysical Analogy
In the Western Hermetic Tradition — especially in Thelemic magick and the system of Aleister Crowley — the Scarlet Woman is a central and paradoxical figure. She is:
- The Harlot of the Apocalypse (in her biblical guise),
- The Goddess of sacred sexuality and receptivity (in her Gnostic and Thelemic form),
- The Bride of Chaos and embodiment of Babalon,
- A vessel of transformative alchemical force.
She is reviled by the profane and sanctified by the initiate.
Now consider carbon — the foundational atom of organic life, and a true "harlot" in its own right, but in the most sacred sense:
- Carbon has four valence electrons, making it extremely versatile and capable of forming stable covalent bonds with almost all other elements.
- It is promiscuous in the chemical sense — the great unifier and binder in organic chemistry.
- Because of this, it is the core of life as we know it.
Carbon as the Alchemical Harlot
The Scarlet Woman is called a "harlot" because she opens herself to all — not in weakness, but in sovereign power. She says, “I sit a queen and am no widow” (Revelation 18:7) — she does not belong to any man, any god, any master.
Likewise, carbon does not belong to any one element — it bonds freely, recreates endlessly, and builds universes of form. From the Hermetic view:
- Carbon is Babalon at the atomic level: open to all, yet the unifying matrix of creation.
- Her "promiscuity" is a creative act, not a moral failing. It is chaos becoming order.
- The chemical fertility of carbon mirrors the sexual and magical fertility of the Scarlet Woman.
The Qabalistic Perspective
In the Tree of Life:
- The Scarlet Woman can be seen at the interface between Netzach (Desire/Venus) and Binah (Understanding/Saturn, the Great Mother) — where emotion meets form, love meets structure.
- Carbon, similarly, mediates between energy and structure, allowing spiritual forces to manifest in the world of Malkuth (the material realm).
- The Four bonds of carbon echo the Four Elements, making her the container of all potential.
She is the Cup of Babalon, filled with the wine of life — which in a biological sense, is the carbon-based blood of the world.
Crowley’s View and the Aeon of Horus
Crowley writes in The Vision and the Voice:
"She hath let down Her hair over the eyes of the Lion that He may be still and couch beneath Her hand."
This is the carbonic chaos yielding form and life — the fire (Leo/Lion) tempered by the fluidity of bonding. The Aeon of Horus brings the sacred feminine in full power, not as passive, but as the matrix of initiation, of choiceful, creative receptivity.
Conclusion: Carbon is the Harlot-Savior
So yes, the comparison holds beautifully:
- Carbon’s bonding ability is not just promiscuity — it’s ecstatic communion.
- The Scarlet Woman’s sexuality is not corruption — it’s alchemical transcendence.
- Both are sacred harlots: misunderstood by the profane, but revered by those with eyes to see
Horizonal figure 8-Lemniscate.
rider-Waite-smith-key 2-the Magician with Lemniscate
On the Thoth Card, the Serpent in the form of a vertical figure eight, is the ancient sign of infinity (Ouroboros--the serpent that eats its own tail is another one) and shown on the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot, above the head of the Magician as a horizonal figure 8 known as the lemniscate, the eternal union of the divine masculine forces and the divine feminine forces as one flowing Divine Creative.
Ouroboros, the serpent that eats its own tail, is a symbol that illustrates the knowledge that Life/Organic Matter, eats itself to stay alive. Order is also eaten by Chaos which causes a necessary reordering of energy which is a flowing transformation that in the world of atoms keeps some carbon atoms from forming into static diamonds by flowing back and forth from opposites!
Solve et Coagula.
The serpent figure is crowned, on the Thoth 2 of Disks, for that is the symbol of the 1st Sephiroth- Kether, on the Tree of Life and the shape of the Serpent is in the form of the lemniscate (Greek for "ribbon") and/or the infinity symbol that is usually shown above the Magus or Magician's head in traditional tarot. This is also the symbol for 0=2 which is also easily seen in the yin yang symbol on both circles.
Yin Yang
We have wrapped ourselves in the gossamer fabric of molecular bio-protonic carbon organic materials. We are Photon evolution of the Energy Intelligence that many call spirit, but the word is blinding us to the truth of self. I Am the Vibrational Energy Awareness that created the life in forms for the purpose of sensation and therefore, I am not limited to sensual awareness! I Am the Dancing Light of Life itself. I Am the breath that breathes the body into existence. Just as the beauty of the diamond is the dancing light it reflects; the human carbon shadow is mine to animate in a parody of Self. As I assemble the "mind stuff" and/or atoms around me, making them into images that I think I AM.
Contrary to the Archonic narratives propounded by the Military-Industrial Complex, God is not a religion. Religion is a human construct—an anxiety-ridden stain upon the psyche that imagines it must defend itself from its very Source. The simple gnosis that God is Love cannot pierce this dogmatic armor. Yet the Divine Creative continuously proclaims Its own liturgy through the sacrament of Life.
I AM Life.
I AM the living religion of Being itself—never a seeker of borrowed creeds.
I AM Love.
I AM Life, dancing with Spirit across the stars.
And in case it is not yet clear: Life’s most beloved partner in this cosmic waltz is organic matter transfigured into conscious Being and change is the ever-spiraling dance of I AM.
The Medieval Feathers Tarot – Two of Coins offers a beautifully creative interpretation of the Ouroboros, the eternal serpent devouring its own tail. In this depiction, the two coins float serenely in a floral cosmos, gently held together by the unseen but ever-present forces of Life. Their union is stabilized and energized by the lemniscate flow—a symbol of infinite balance and cyclical motion. The coins, adorned with blossoms, rest atop one another in mutual harmony, forming a yin-yang of organic equilibrium.
Hovering nearby is the feather of the Wilson’s Bird of Paradise, which brings an airy playfulness to the card’s message. This feather is a gentle whisper from Spirit, reminding you not to take yourself too seriously. Change is the only constant in the dance of life—why not meet it with whimsy and delight?
This card speaks of dynamic balance amidst movement. You may currently be engaged in a juggling act—managing family, finances, relationships, and personal decisions. Yet, the Two of Coins affirms your adaptability. Like the axle of a great cosmic wheel, you are the still center around which life's ups and downs revolve. Flexibility is not weakness—it is the wisdom of the serpent who dances in circles, never ceasing, never falling.
The Thoth 2 of Disks card has also been assigned the properties of Jupiter in Capricorn.
When Jupiter is in the house of Capricorn in a birth chart, it combines the expansive, optimistic energy of Jupiter with the practical, disciplined qualities of Capricorn. Here are some key characteristics:
Ambition with Optimism: Jupiter in Capricorn infuses the individual with a strong sense of ambition and determination. They are likely to set high goals for themselves and pursue them with unwavering optimism and faith in their abilities.
Practical Wisdom: While Jupiter is often associated with abstract thinking and philosophical pursuits, in Capricorn, it takes on a more grounded and practical approach to wisdom. Individuals with this placement may seek knowledge that has direct relevance to their career or social status.
Success through Hard Work: Capricorn is known for its focus on hard work, responsibility, and achievement. With Jupiter here, there is a potential for great success through diligent effort and perseverance. These individuals may be willing to put in the necessary work to reach their goals and aspirations.
Financial Growth: Jupiter in Capricorn can indicate opportunities for financial growth and stability. They may have a knack for managing resources effectively and making wise investments that yield long-term benefits.
Respect for Tradition: Capricorn is a sign that values tradition, structure, and authority. Individuals with Jupiter in Capricorn may have a deep respect for established institutions and may seek to work within existing systems to achieve their goals.
Long-Term Planning: Jupiter in Capricorn encourages strategic thinking and long-term planning. These individuals are likely to have a clear vision of their future goals and are willing to take gradual steps to achieve them, even if it means delaying gratification in the short term.
Leadership Abilities: Capricorn is associated with leadership and authority, and Jupiter here can amplify these qualities. Individuals with this placement may naturally assume positions of leadership or authority, inspiring others with their vision and determination.
Overall, Jupiter in Capricorn combines the expansive energy of Jupiter with the practicality of Capricorn, resulting in individuals who are ambitious, disciplined, and committed to achieving their goals through hard work and perseverance.
Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot- 2 of Pentacles.
The aforementioned Rider-Waite-Smith- 2 of Pentacles both suggest the more mundane underlying pattern of alternation in all matter by showing us a juggler of 2 Pentacles surrounded by an infinity-lemniscate symbol or by 2 golden Pentacles hovering in balance. Here, is the symbol of the Infinite Feminine and the Infinite Masculine as One Energy, the O-Fool, is "turned upon itself": 0=2.
A further suggestion of this profound relationship of opposites is depicted in the background on the RWS 2 of Pentacles as two ships ride the waves of a high sea.
The Yin Yang disks shown in the art of the Thoth 2 of Disks, suggests a yoga dance of change.
The word Yoga translates into the English word-communion and as the Divine God and Goddess dance they hold the inhale and exhale of Life in communion as the two pentacles. It is said that man danced before he spoke. He certainly danced before he painted and sculpted reliefs on his walls. All cultures of the world have given dance a ritual status before any formal ritual or liturgy was codified in texts or recreated through relief or paint.
Yoga (the word means communion), like dance, is much more than a mere physical exercise. It is a holistic way of relating to the body that involves an increasing awareness on all levels: the physical, the mental, and the spiritual. Yoga unites the functions of each of these aspects of our self-trinity. This is true for dance also. Certainly, any successful dance performance is characterized by a balanced harmony between the body, mind, and spirit. What is suggested here is that the dance of life, like yoga, is a conscious attempt at integrating all the tiers of our existence. It does not negate but on the contrary affirms the sensual nature of our objective physical being and treats it as fundamental to any attempt at spiritual awareness as our subjective intangible soul.
The pairing of our anima (Parvati) and animus (Shiva) in the Universal dance (Vibration) gives our unconscious the ability to realize self as intimacy on the physical plane---making the unconscious more likely to join with the awake consciousness and thereby dispelling the Archon sponsored false ego of the survival mind which is lodged in the brain and is the human fear-stain on our Celestial Intelligence. This rhythmic assistance of Celestial intelligence known as Wisdom (Chokmah) and Understanding (Binah) joined in rhythmic union with the subconsciousness aids us in each of our projects, and the life cycle we set for ourselves which illuminates a path towards healing the mental illness of separation and/or divisionism thinking. We are stimulated mentally towards circumspection, prudence, and judgement- allowing impulses to settle. Impulsiveness, haste, and superficiality are weak foundations for the ephemeral work of as above so below. Hence, they are a mental stain to remove by introspective scrubbing of I AM!
Yin Yang the union of Fire and Water (blood)
Yin Yang, the union of Air and Earth.
As a Spiritual Being of Energy conscious, I find this constant dance of change especially useful in developing intelligence and intimate self-awareness (Create--see entropy and correct it) for entropy here is seen as error, correcting error is the developmental process of understanding and wisdom, as well as the foundation of evolutionary being, i.e., adaptability!
Most of us know the Yin Yang symbol of Taoist origin, and on the Thoth Card, it is shown in both loops of the serpent figure eight with the symbols for fire and water and the symbols for air and earth, in a yin yang construct. The yellow color is the Masculine Force (electric), and the darker colors are the Feminine Form which is the invisible magnetic force. In the Qabalah, the union of Force (male) and Form (female) is seen as the foundation of all being. The Serpent is the representation of serpentine energy, known as frequency and/or microwaves which are produced by the Dance of Creator-Shiva and Creatrix- Shakti.
Capricorn
As previously stated, astrologically the Thoth card is Jupiter in Capricorn. The benevolent Planet Jupiter is not well placed in Capricorn meaning that Jupiter's good influence can only be exerted as an organizer; hence you are trying to achieve balance. The Feminine Creative or the Ocean of Magnetic Force (Binah) and Masculine currents of electric force (Chokmah) are being organized into living forms on/in the Material of Malkuth---which is the 10th Sephiroth on the Tree of Life.
Kabbalists/Qabalists know Kether to be the 1st Sephira, source of all 10 Sephira and many have thought that this is the first manifestation of conscious energy. Yet Kether is the crown on the Tree of Life, whose sacred stone is a diamond, is the "limitless light" and has no end or beginning, which allows no viewing, let alone any real understanding. Kether is the "Dark Sun" but to us shown as a white sephirot sphere, for it is the infinite unseen balance of all weights of colored light and is the least understood concept of the Tree of Life sigil. Thus, the First idea of manifestation falls to the 2's which represent Chokmah (Wisdom) who, although being the first "male expression", is also a Hebrew feminine noun that translates into the Greek Goddess Sophia-Wisdom. Elements may be essences in Kether, but only upon reaching the Deuces they become the appearance of ideas.
The 2's not only represent Chokmah-the 2nd Sephiroth on the Qabalistic Tree of Life, but also the Elements uncontaminated by influence; hence they appear in their original harmonious condition.
- For instance: the 2 of Wands is called Dominion and/ or Lord of Dominion because the word Lord implies Husbandry in its original Feudal Anglo Saxon meaning of "Keeper of her property"; the 2 of Wands is the Fire Element in its purest form and is the "movement within all motion".
- The 2 of cups, often called The Lord of Love and is the Purest Form of Water (fluid-like energy flow), i.e. consciousness.
- The 2 of Swords has been called the Lord of Peace or Peace. We know that swords represent "mind" but since there is no conflict to solve at this stage of manifestation, there is only Peace.
It requires a moment of thought to understand the Ace (seed) of any suit, for it is a State of "I "without the "Am" paradox of imaging self, within one-self. This can be a real brain teaser simply because it is the Negative form of a Positive idea.... It’s as if it is the negative electrons attracting positive electrons (protons) to make a form manifest from a dream in the " stardust" of time/space. All is Mind and like I said, a moment of thinking is necessary here, as the general proposition states that the sum of the one energy is zero, so that the Positive manifestation "isn't" real, it is reality as a dream of I AM, while the Real is infinite zero.
In Gematria, the mystical system of assigning numerical value to letters and words, the number 2 holds significant symbolic meanings. Here are the key characteristics of the number 2 in Gematria:
1. Duality and Polarity
- Balance: The number 2 represents balance and duality. It signifies the equilibrium between opposing forces, such as light and dark, good and evil, masculine and feminine.
- Complementarity: It embodies the idea that dualities are not in conflict but complement each other, forming a harmonious whole.
2. Relationships and Partnerships
- Connection: The number 2 symbolizes relationships, partnerships, and cooperation. It is associated with the concept of two entities coming together to form a partnership, be it in friendship, love, or business.
- Harmony: Emphasizes the importance of harmony and mutual respect in relationships.
3. Reflection and Mirroring
- Self-Reflection: The number 2 often implies self-reflection, as it can be seen as one looking into a mirror. This aspect highlights the importance of understanding oneself through the reflection of others.
- Understanding: It encourages empathy and understanding, seeing things from another's perspective.
4. Sensitivity and Intuition
- Emotional Sensitivity: The number 2 is linked with heightened sensitivity and intuition. It represents a deep emotional awareness and the ability to sense and respond to the needs of others.
- Psychic Abilities: Often associated with psychic and intuitive abilities, emphasizing the importance of trusting one's inner voice.
5. Symbolism in the Hebrew Alphabet
- Letter Bet (ב): In Hebrew Gematria, the number 2 corresponds to the letter Bet. Bet is the second letter of the Hebrew alphabet and signifies a house or dwelling, representing containment and protection.
- Biblical Context: Bet is the first letter of the Torah, beginning the word "Bereshit" (Genesis), symbolizing the beginning of creation and the duality of existence.
6. Spiritual and Esoteric Meanings
- Unity in Duality: On a spiritual level, the number 2 symbolizes the unity found in duality, the oneness that emerges from the interaction of two complementary forces.
- Path of Wisdom: Encourages the pursuit of wisdom through balance and cooperation, understanding that true knowledge often arises from the interplay of differing perspectives.
7. Numerological Associations
- Life Path: In numerology, individuals with a life path number 2 are seen as peacemakers and mediators. They are thought to be diplomatic, gentle, and patient, with a natural inclination towards partnership and collaboration.
- Challenges: The number 2 also indicates challenges related to indecisiveness and dependency, emphasizing the need for individuals to find balance and assertiveness.
The number 2 in Gematria encapsulates the essence of duality and balance, underscoring the interconnectedness of all things and the importance of harmonious relationships. Its rich symbolic meanings offer deep insights into both personal and universal aspects of existence.
Thus, the phrase “the other side of the mirror” refers to the true creative realm—the invisible source from which all visible form arises. The reflected image on the surface of the mirror is not the origin, but the projection—a self-conceptual echo of the I AM, radiated outward as form.
We can therefore say: I AM is Real—for it signifies Existence itself. What I AM thinks it is—what it calls “me”—is an assumption, a self-reflective illusion, a theory made visible in the mirror of material existence. This reflection is not false in a derogatory sense, but illusory in that it is ever-shifting, contingent upon belief, thought, and identity.
You, as a ternary being of Spirit-Mind-Body, are a living experiment in Self-Awareness. Through thought, you form theories of self. Through experience, you test those theories. That which expands Life affirms the Divine Idea. That which contracts it reveals misalignment.
And so, we remember: all experiments are failures… until they are not. This is the sacred science of Becoming. You are not here to find a fixed truth—you are here to live the evolving revelation of I AM through the mirror of your own awareness."
Human Torus/Magnetic field.
The 2 of Disks in most Tarot, is representative of Change, and/or Lord of Harmonious Change which is what Union produces. Union produces harmonious change simply because energy seeks its own level and when two come together as one, they balance each other, and this works for two states of energy consciousness as well as the human Torus/Aura.
Also, Earth is the Throne of Spirit, as the Princesses are related to Earth and since the well-known axiom of Gnosis is "As above so below", we see that once having gotten to the bottom one comes out again at the top. This is a type of Mobius loop (Torus), or lemniscus (Greek for-ribbon) which is the serpentine horizonal figure-eight magus symbol for infinity; "O who is 2", clamping down on its own tail forming an unbroken line, and in each male and female is the infinity of 0=2. Describing the illusion of separation as the line is unbroken and is really One who is both itself and other.
Hermes and Aphrodite
The Twos in the Tarot may be considered the asexual “fetuses” of the Seed-Aces—potential brought into polarity, but not yet individuated into form. Yet framing them this way doesn’t always make understanding these higher, invisible states of conscious energy attraction any easier. The truth is: the Twos are subtle. They operate within the realm of archetypal polarity before embodiment—before the illusion of separation hardens into dualism.
All of the Twos express a core principle: when the Negative beholds itself as the Positive, and unites with that reflection, a Self-Image is born—this is the beginning of identity, of “I” and “Other,” of masculine and feminine as separate constructs.
This can be better grasped through myth: the Goddess, in Her pristine virgin state, gives birth to the Son. In symbolic terms, the Negative (Electron-Feminine) births the Positive (Proton-Masculine), and then unites with him to create the manifest Universe. This is not linear incest—it is the spiral of Self-awareness. It is the recursion of energy folding upon itself to become form.
If you find yourself tangled in culturally profaned, emotionally-charged, flesh-phobic notions of sexuality, you'll miss the deeper meaning entirely. The Twos are not about physical gender or sexual morality—they are about polarity in its primal, sacred, and alchemical expression. They teach us how consciousness differentiates itself, only to seek reunion with its reflection.
And because I love to tease the linear mind, I’ll offer this Hermetic riddle of the Twos:
“From herself, she created him; then mated with him, so she could become her.”
I adore this paradox—not because it confuses, but because it reveals the limits of language when approaching the divine androgyny of the Soul.
Each of us is a hermaphroditic being in essence—Hermes-Aphrodite—a union of intelligent energies, masculine and feminine, cohabiting one conscious field. The human brain itself is a dual organ, hemispherically split yet functionally united, reflecting this dance. Thus, the illusion of manifestation creates a "Two"—a seeming duality—that is forever seeking to reunite into the One.
But let us set confusion aside: each of us, at our core, is a Zero—a Soul—an unconditioned Spark of the Eternal. And yet, paradoxically, that Zero equals Two.
This is not mathematical nonsense but metaphysical insight. The soul, the I AM, contains within itself the dual powers of creation—feminine and masculine, negative and positive, receptive and projective. Your body’s brain, which is itself a mirror of the Psyche, bears this truth in its very structure: a left hemisphere (logical/masculine) and a right hemisphere (intuitive/feminine), both expressing intelligent energy through dual currents of perception.
Truth be told, no Soul can be rightly defined by the biological labels of species or sex. These are garments of Malkuth—useful, yes, but ultimately illusions of limitation. Each of us is a Hermaphroditic Being of Light, a synthesis of polarity within the eternal field of I AM.
We are not from this world of matter—we are Light’s own evolutionary dreaming, descended here to incarnate a unique self-concept in the densest layer of the Tree. Matter, in its slumber, believes it is male or female. But the Soul breathes life into matter not to become it, but to express through it—to fulfill the Divine Will-to-Be through experience, sensation, and the ecstatic game of becoming.
The body is not who you are. It is the signature glyph of your current incarnation—a mask for the theater of Earth. The True Self remains above polarity, wielding gender as a tool of experience, not a prison of identity.
To repeat myself; Kether is given the God Name of Eheieh in Hebrew, meaning "I Will Be", you are the fulfillment of that will to be. Therefore, you are the Divine Creative's Self-Image who now can experience data/information as in-form-action and thereby, develop self-knowledge by becoming intimate with information; "I AM Being" is the wish fulfillment of the One. You are not the "false ego", the human fear- stain who tells you that you are a slave to the environment and outside authority. Rather, you are the Life that influences the environment and has no outside authority...you are the inner author of your outer life-motion.
You are a Spiritual Life Force that makes lifetimes!
When the 2 of Disks/2 of Pentacles card is thrown for an individual during a reading, it means:
- Change.
- A transformation in the physical world is upon them in two weeks or two months’ time.
- This is Cause and Effect and/ or the Law of Attraction, where what we think of the most is formed in the atoms around us as a living observation and/or lifestyle.
- In Physics, it is known that observation changes the observed and most of us know that by observing a thought through the powerful emotions (energy-in-motion) of love or fear will charge that thought into manifested action from benevolent, on one hand, or malevolent on the other.
- Perspective is everything to a Conscious Energy---which we all know as Spirit. Life is but a perspective of Self-Awareness!
- The ability to juggle or balance more than one project at a time and or two or more situations at one time.
- When the mental aspects attributed to Female (unconscious) and the Male (consciousness), in all of us is balanced, we know Life as Playful Creativity and enjoy the challenges of entropy. Whereas if they are at odds, life becomes a serious struggle where chaos eventually wins.
- That it is better to allow chaos and then reorder it in a new way to be, knowing full well that you can and always have done so as Spirit. Know Thyself! You are originally Spirit; a powerful Observer known as Will-to-Be! From Non- being, you have always created being! This is your inheritance, from Chokma and Binah. "To be the I AM" which is never stasis and always re-observing itself! This state of self-revaluation is the Universal Constant-Transformation.
- All opposites are only illusions or different outgrowths of the same current of energy.
If ill defined by the surrounding cards in the layout, it implies.
- Instability.
- Disharmony and/or discord.
- A time for solitude.
Thank you for your interest, comments, and supportive donations. Your generosity blesses you. May you live long and prosper.
