Thoth-2 of Swords- Peace

The Lord of Peace restored

The celestial attribution of the 2 of Swords, is the Moon in Libra; the Moon is change, but Nature is inherently peaceful which enhances the balancing nature of Libra. Therefore, the astrological meaning applied to the 2 of Air, the Moon in Libra, implies, the need to bring about change in a harmonious, united and sociable way.

Overall, one would think of the disruption of Chokma (# 2 Sephiroth- Wisdom) in the suit of Air (Swords); air being a suit born from the conflict of Water and Fire in marriage and Swords are known as the Tarot "Death Suit". However, Air/Swords is subject to change as no other suit, not only from the fire/water parentage but also when Earth appears the suit becomes crystallized.

In the Thoth , the 2 of Swords, displays 2 Swords of equal strength, crossed; they are combine by a 5 petal blue rose of Goddess Wisdom. The Blue Rose represents the Gnostic Sophia, and the Qabalistic Chokma) the Great Mother of Wisdom (Female aspect of Chokma that is Binah), whose harmonizing influence, plus that of Libra, compounds the latent antagonism of the Suit of Swords. The pinwheel shaped white rays, are in a geometrical pattern that emphasizes the harmonic equilibrium of the 2. Peace is about the best word to describe this harmonic. Here are also 2 individual- minds united in the wisdom of Sophia.

Sophia

Sophia is a central idea in Hellenistic philosophy and religion, Platonism, Gnosticism and Christian theology. Originally carrying a meaning of "cleverness, skill", the later meaning of the term, close to the meaning of Phronesis, was significantly shaped by the term philosophy as used by Plato.

In examining this 2 of Swords card, we must also be reminded that these are double edged swords, noted instruments of war made to thrust, stab, slice and slash; and to kill. Hence they are symbols of action, as is the mind (ego) and the Rauch of the Soul (psyche) both of whom are always active. Eastern Mystics tell us that the mind/ego is the enemy of peace and calm; even to seek profound moments of Higher Consciousness, we must at first defeat the ego/individual mind. However, fearful that its control and existence will end, the ego-mind resists these efforts to quell its noise at all costs. That is why many Sword cards are frustrated, confused, nervous, anxious and even tortured. The ego is the Devil that bedevils us with confused thought. We once were a Soul, who came to place its self-knowledge into in-form-action. Upon arrival in the Sphere of Malkuth, there was no ego ( individual body-intelligence) and when we just started to develop a harmony between the 2, as children, we were told to reject our identity and form a new one developed for us by indoctrination, pleasure-pain training and dogma; all of which are under the control of the Patriarchy and thereby, insuring there was no or little peace within us. Divide and conquer, is the modus operandi of the Patriarchy and/or Military Industrial Compound.

Tarot Illuminati- 2 of Swords

The fulcrum of the Mind.

The Tarot Illuminati judiciously follows the traditional tarot artwork on the 2 of Swords. Here lady mind is shown as a blind justice, which traditionally means a nonpartisan thinker. Therefore, we have a mind that is between paradoxes and at the birth of paradox. Between paradoxes, generates a peace, a moment of deep contemplation where both mind and body are at peaceful operation. However, this peace is but a moment before another paradox is born. What many of us forget, is that we are the evolution of light and that attaching the microwave frequencies of I AM (Spirit/Consciousness), to a body, forms a I AM ME ( a personal Spirit-Mind-Body action). Hence we have a union of "I"-primal identity, "AM", the Other, and the copulation of the 2 that forms a child of information-"Me". However, it is impossible to know who you are since the identity of you, and/or your personality, is controlled by the "mad hatter" of indoctrinated thinking. Time to go inward, to the inner silence, where your Psyche lives, a Soul/Solar Self that "Knows itself" through the action of "Me".

When the 2 of Swords

is thrown:

  • The querent will be or has been, experiencing peace after a quarrel that began two weeks, or two months ago.
  • Peace is restored but some tension remains.
  • There are two actions here, sometimes selfish and sometimes unselfish action because of the contradictory characteristics in the same nature (Moon in Libra, Fire and Water).
  • There is Strength gained after suffering; sacrifice and trouble, yet strength arising from the effort.
  • The querent may often show sorrow and sympathy for those in trouble and champion the weak and oppressed while also giving aid to them.
  • There is an arrangement of differences that brings about justice and truth from untruth.
  • Pause during decision making.
  • Being at the cross-roads.
  • The balance between 2 options.

According to dignity of the accompanying cards, the 2 of Swords or 2 of Air, could also mean:

  • One is lacking tact, often doing injury when meaning well.
  • There is also an inclination to repeat pardoned affronts.
  • Fear of a decision.
  • Unresolved conditions of Tension.
