The Dreams of Gaia Tarot-Key 22-Intuition, is often called one's 6th sense. If one has a "funny feeling", an "inkling", a "sneaky suspicion", a "hunch", a "knowing", a "feeling in one's bones", a "gut feeling", a "premonition", a "presentiment", and/or a "foreboding", one is experiencing intuition. When experienced this inexplicable sensation is felt in every fiber of your being, and must be listen to, for your Psyche/soul is sending a very powerful message to your self-consciousness. This is a rare moment for most, when the Soul actually links up to the personality. This linking of the Unconsciousness (moon) and self-consciousness (earth persona) is called a Wholly Marriage. Which is consummated in the Art of Mental alchemy, where to opposites are joined as one by the Spirit-Fire, and/or "adorable fire" within. The "inner soul/ Solar-self" is coiled up and "sleeping" at the base of the spine, and is known to many as the "kundalini", a feminine force of Will to Form, awaiting the time to "awaken" and turn one's body into a "philosophers stone" and/or the Soul made manifest in a material form.   

Intuition is the "bridge" between the Unconsciousness, The Womb of consciousness, and the consciousness, which is it's "golden child" and/or golden mask. For Persona is the Greek word for "mask", and the personality, is merely a mask of the soul, and/or a "self-reflection" of the Psyche. Soul's are not humanoid, bipedal, or a manifested form. They are "Suns of the Divine Creative", a Self made entirely of Photon Energy, long before a "self" expression became electron and therefore, "matter". Soul's are the first Collectives of the I AM, liken to the collective of cosmic particles that make up a nebula clouds, before it condenses into a star. You are energy, the very energy running up and down the nerves of the body, and the photon energy firing between neurons in the homo sapiens sapiens body that you operate in the name of I AM-your inherited name from the Divine Creative. All of which comes from the "invisible" Solar Aura around your body-reflection, that enters through the breath and chakras (Sanskrit for "spinning wheel") and/or light-centers, along the spine of the body., regulating its balance through a light/fire stimulated alchemy.

Intuition may seem to "come out of the blue", yet it is a message that bridges the time gap between the Unconscious (who is timeless) and the consciousness (time operator). Here, one's personality, expands to become a "Mercury" and/or "messenger of the gods"/Solar Self to planetary self and visa versa. This flash of insight, is often felt in creative endeavors, since that is the reason for your existence. You are to be the Soul's intimacy with creation. Although, this intimacy with its most beloved, creation, is made "dull" by the indoctrination and dogma of the Patriarchy, the total focus of emotion, on what one is creating often "burns away" the dull black clouds of programmed ignorance, and the bright"Knowing" shines through. Here the self-conscious becomes a bright mirror, a glass with a "mercury" backing, all silvery and bright. To those who are "enlightened", this mirror of mercury becomes a permanent union between Anima and Animus, between the Unconscious and the Consciousness-Imagination and rationale, so that they are no longer separated by errant propaganda based mental programs.  

The Dreams of Gaia-Intuition card, shows the "Dark Goddess", the Qabalistic Binah, sitting before a bright golden background (solar disc) while holding the star speckled and crescent moon sphere in her hand. The Owl is a traditional symbol of Wisdom and the black cat is a traditional symbol of intuition.

Wisdom comes from the experience of error, and intuition usually corrects that error. Hence, wisdom is 50% error and 50% correction. Intuition is a Knowing that comes from the Collective Experience of I Am, that is the Soul. There are a myriad of personalities stored as "collective intelligence" in the Soul. for it is old, and has created many "self-concepts" before the "you" of today. Hence, your inheritance is great in its wealth of Knowing. Yet it is easy to ignore this "intuitional knowing" when one is not in the habit of being "themselves" but rather, the automatons of the Patriarchy. To know your "godhood", makes you an unruleable power and slaves are ruled. Rulers are defined as "those who control definition", and your definition is a society, is made of ruler's words, and/or propaganda. But long before your brain was washed in the lies of ruler's, you were the Soul's/Spirit's personal representative in the intimate plane of material being. Yet, children can't defend themselves, and their brain is not fully on line and its contact with the Solar Intelligence, is easily broken by "pleasure/pain" training and/or the Society of the Patriarch, which includes the parents. It's time to know the True Parents of the Soul, Creatrix (symbolized as the Moon) and the Creator (symbolized by the Sun). For the Soul, is the infinite space of "inner-self" and the body is only a limited self-awareness in time. The Power of Limits, is intimacy with Self and all that is the Greater Self-Awareness of the Divine Creative. Not pain nor pleasure. Both of those are physical ways of feeling error and correction of error. The need to feel pain, is because you can correct that error, once you identity it. Therefore, you have the ability to heal, to find error and correct it and if in good contact with the Soul/Psyche "miracles happen", for the limits of a material world are not the limits of the Psyche that resides in the Universal Collective Unconscious, that is the Divine Creative. You are Energy being material, for the purpose of intimacy with error and correction. Wisdom comes from the Power of Limits and intuition comes form the Unlimited Power of I AM.

When the Dreams of Gaia-Key 22-Intuition card is thrown in a divination, it implies:

• Intuition is your 6th sense.
• The voice of your unconscious mind.
• Heed your intuitive feelings.
• Intuitive skill born of practice (meditations etc.)
• Pick the option that feels right.
• Strengthen your intuition.
• Tap into your other senses (you have inherited 33 senses).
• Be both intuitive and rational.
• Is it intuition or bad past experiences?

In many traditional Tarot Decks, Key 14 is called Temperance, which implies the heating and cooling of forged steel to make a keen, flexible blade or the slow cooling down process of tempering glass. And in a way, this process is depicted in the Thoth ATU 14- Art Card. The Art card is the Path of Samekh (meaning -Prop), for it is attributed to the restriction and control over the forces of existence; The Art being another name for alchemy. In other words-Mastering Limitation. Master Theron in his book 777, made this comment on the letter Samekh: It is "The Womb preserving Life. Self-control and Self-sacrifice govern the Wheel."

Around the Rainbow Solar Cape of the Thoth- Divine Androgyny is an alchemical Latin glory; VISITA INTERIORA TERRAE RECTIFICANDO INVENIES OCCULTUM LAPIDEM. [ "Visit the interior parts of earth; by rectification thou shalt find the hidden stone."] The initials of this glory are, V.I.T.R.I.O.L, which is known in alchemy as the "Universal Solvent" (also a poison). Also, vitriol is also called the "Universal Medicine" (most medicines are poisons) which is sometimes a stone (Philosopher's stone), a powder or a tincture, according to ancient writings. It is because the Alchemists were dealing with substances on the "borderland" of matter that makes them difficult to understand. This can be found also in Physics, where Quantum physics is involved with describing the "Quanta" which is the "borderland" of matter, in modern science. The Alchemist knew/knows, that the difference between living things and dead things, is their behavior. The Vitriol, mentioned in alchemy, is a combination of Mercury, Sulfur and Salt but in a higher-living nature rather than the vulgar nature of chemistry. In fact, the word Rectificando implies the right leading of the new substance (Ultima Materia ) in the path of the True Will, vivified by merging with Fiery/bright and warm Soul. By bringing the Original Psyche into the body, the Golden Child's fiery nature not only tempers the consciousness, one also tempers the dreams of the Unconscious with consciousness, and the balance of chemicals in the Soma (body), thus forming "something more than the sum of its parts" and with the addition of sensual discernment, an intimate union of Master and Masterpiece! What is arcane here is that this "Universal Solvent" is released by the union of consciousness and Kundalini fire in a human body, whose "interior parts of earth" are Chromosomes, using the True Will of the Soul to rightly lead or rectify this new body- substance towards states of "Higher Consciousness".We know the golden cistern to be the human body, because of the kaput sigil of the Raven and Skull engraved on it. This symbolizes the vessel of life and death, while the fire water combination implies life.

Leading from Yesod (foundation) to Tiphareth (beauty), the Path of Samekh is as from Moon-Divine Feminine (Self-reflection) to Sun (Solar Source) or Divine Masculine; from Personality to the Higher Self. On this very difficult Path, the very enormity of the Great Work (As above, so below) will be experienced. Also, the initiate may experience going through a long dark tunnel, believing (not knowing) there is Light at the end of it.

This Path of Samekh, the Art card, has been called one of the Paths of "the dark night of the Soul", verifying that this is a Path of trial and temptation. Samekh, is the Intelligence of Probation, as Paul Foster Case labels it in his text, THIRTY-TWO PATHS OF WISDOM. In various Gnostic texts, it is also called, "Daughter of the Reconcilers, the Bringer Forth of Life." All of these phrases lead us right to the very idea behind this card, The Great Mother Binah. Thus, the central figure of this card, is Female. Also, the ruling sign of the Path of Samekh, is Sagittarius, the Archer, who is also Diana the Huntress, goddess of the Moon. All of which repeats the principle that with the exception of the FOOL (0), all the figures of the Tarot are Mother Binah (Understanding) and Father Chokma (Wisdom) in different states of Force and Form.

Another helpful reference book, VOICE OF ISIS- by Hariette and Homer Curtis describes the Universal Mother (The Womb with a View) as the "power of bringing forth in humanity the Divine Child or the Christ." This bearing of the Child is us reborn and achieved by conquering the Path of Samekh or The Art of combining opposites. We are not only to be the Moon’s reflections of personality, but also the Solar Personality, that is the Divine Child.

It is to be understood, the Art card demonstrates how the experience of rebirth is brought about, which is to say, through the exchange and equilibrium of opposites, Anima and Animus, which can only be symbolically described, but it does not demonstrate the birth itself. Thus, the symbolism here is not to demonstrate a "deep Mystery", rather this symbolism demonstrates how limited and inadequate is our language to describe the process. That is why the Qabalistic Tarot Reader, is not one who thinks that by memorizing descriptions and numbers of the cards they are a Tarot Reader. Rather, it is by scrying, (integrating) and subjectively "walking the Paths", turning subjective into objective sensation, i.e. the process of actual experience ....one begins to understand the Tarot.

Therefore, the Art Card is not nearly as symbolic as some believe, it symbolizes the Alchemical Art where Fire becomes Water and Water becomes Fire (...."When the male is no longer male and the female, female.” (*Gnostic Gospel of Thomas). This process is describing an actual event/process that happens in the initiate’s material body, i.e. an actual physical transformation into the Ultima Materia (philosophers stone). Thus we have illustrated on this card an Androgynous figure, combining the Water (consciousness with Lightning (Fiery Spirit) creating in the Golden Cistern (the Human body) what is known as the Living Water and/or consciousness vivified by merging with Universal Collective Unconscious.This merging awakens the Spirit-fire in coiled in the lower spine of the body. Spirits fiery nature not only tempers the consciousness, one also tempers the Spiritual experience with consciousness, thus forming "something more than the sum of its parts." A union of Master and Masterpiece!

This alchemical process is often describe by Qabalists as a personal application of the Yod (fire-Life force) and Heh (water/intuition) uniting in the body to produce Vau (Air-Mind) within the individual crucible of form which is Heh-final and Earth. This is described as a "Spiritual Orgasm" or "The Ecstasy" which is a process demanding inner manipulation of sexual forces (He-She) and is shown as an golden energy (in the shape of a stylized arrow) firing upward and across the shoulders of the Divine figure in the Art Card. Even the often flesh-o-phobic Christian iconography, has accepted this Spiritual Orgasm. For instance, the ecstasy of the 16th century mystic, Saint Theresa which was described as an angel thrusting a flaming arrow into her heart .

The symbolical of the piecing arrow that brings ecstatic enlightenment is actually an archetypal, and mufti-cultural accepted description of a real process of physiological transformation! What happens is a rhythmic, pleasuring motion of inner energy,(the Adorable Fire) ebbs and flows

(shown as the figure eight associate with the Magus) in very specific perimeters (oval or womb shaped) but which is taken in either direction (up and down the tree) at will. The Magus, knows that by changing the vibration of inner energy, one raises or lowers the level of consciousness, moving from Chakra to Chakra or Path to Path. Simply stated: the Kundalini (sexual energy) acting upon consciousness produces or releases astral images, the pictures that form our minds.

At first, many students find the symbolism of the Major Arcana complicated; However, the principle of the Path of Samekh or Art, is to produce a consciously controlled vision that is limited only by will. The purpose of Hermetic, Qabalistic, and Gnostic symbols is to furnish descriptions that most anyone's unconsciousness can relate to. If you focus on one symbol at a time they are not remote or really complicated, In fact most of the symbolic language of the Mysteries, has been superseded by the language of Carl Jung and other psychologists. To Carl Jung, this ability to consciously control Visions, would be called "lucid dreaming", which is known to help the individual correct personality disorders.

Robert Wang goes on to explain, in his test book: THE QABALISTIC TAROT,"

It should be added that the Metals described in Alchemical literature are the same as the Seven Chakras of the Hindus, the Seven Planets and the Sephiroth of the Microprosopus [lower seven on the Tree of Life.]. These words have been used as codes over the centuries, meaning seven distinct levels of objective consciousness. Thus when one speaks of a Planet ruling a sign of the Zodiac, what is meant in the relationship of a Sign to a given center of energy both in the Greater Universe and in the Human body." (The brackets are my own explanation).

The Art of awakening these Paths in the Human Body, is the Qabalistic initiates goal. "To Know Thyself" is to know the "As above and so below" nature of our Whole Self.

The Art Card, is place the sign of Sagittarius, which is ruled by the planet Jupiter, meaning the Sephiroth, Chesed (Wisdom). Here, we should remember that Chesed is the architect of all manifestation, working with the "will to form “and/or "potential to form" of Binah (Understanding) who is the Mother of Consciousness.

As explained before, Art-Key 14- The Path of Samekh, is an actual physical process, known for centuries by the Gnostic, Mystics, Tantrics, Alchemists, and Qabalists. And is a willed process of directing the communion or interchange of opposite forces. The beginning of this process is begun by the Higher Self-; a process which is instituted in the Sephiroth Chesed, the most refined, point of Microprosopus, to which the Higher Self is central. Chesed is the enacting force (phallus) of the Great Mother Binah's process of “will to form". (Womb). Until the initiate accomplices this process of the Path of Samekh, the Higher Self (Shown as an androgynous figure on the card) cannot be known to the personality for it erases the man-made personality and brings in the Real Persona of the Soul. Thus the Art of "Spiritual Alchemy" describes this Card and the whole process as a preparation of the Personality, and its physical vehicle, to deal with the Solar Forces (influx of Light) which would devastate a "normal" system. This is an ongoing process of measuring and testing, instigated by the Higher Self, to see how much the physical body can bear. When properly tempered, and the body can handle the stress of such energy, the arrow is released (Kundalini rises). Once contacted on the Path of Samekh, the Higher Self will regulate the flow, so the individual isn't harmed. A great jolt of energy, will tell the individual to "back off', and relax. Because this is a Solar Passion so overwhelming, it is often described as Divine Anger, which is apt if we realize that anger is for self-motivation; to get off of one's butt and do something,. It could be said that Divine Anger is the motivation for Sagittarius to launch his arrow.

All in all, the Art Card key 14, is the consummation of the Divine Marriage, depicted on the Lovers card Key 6, here the Orgasm of Spirit united with its most beloved - the flesh, has been reached. There is a perfect interchange of forces, as the Red Lion has become white, and the White lion has become Red. The Art card shows Water being poured on Fire, and Fire is merged with Water, all within the purified physical vehicle, shown as the Golden Cauldron, i.e. the Master's body. When the Art card is thrown during a reading:

• The querent is experiencing or will soon experience, a combination of forces effecting realization and action.
• A blending of all circumstances in order to achieve balance.
• Trials and tribulations that lead to the "middle path", arriving at a profound realization.
• A balance of peace, achieved by care and healing.
• The proper measure-proportionality and harmony .
• Love longs for fusion and this in turn expresses the alchemical process on the emotional level.
• Fulfillment.
• Peace. 
• Harmony.

If ill defined by surrounding cards, it implies:

• Excess.
• Conflicts.
• Dissipation.
• Tendency  towards extremes.
